Backcourt was 9-36. Just sad watching Bill Self try to grunt out wins and not care about scoring. 34% shooting and 3-15 deep. "We will grunt it out" sayeth Bill

I dont understand why we play Lucas, when we have Mickelson who is clearly better at almost everything that Lucas does. The only thing Lucas might be better at is rebounding and its real close there. He cant finish around the basket, cant block shots. Good kid, but not really what we need most of the time.

Selden was disappointing, hes still missing two pt shots and disappearing. We lose this game because Mason missed some shots and because Graham played like total ass. Graham took some pretty bad shots tonight, hes going to be a great player but tonight was not his night.

Green is so good offensively I dont really care if hes not elite defensively. Want him to see the court, the problem is if you have Ellis and Greene on the court at thr same time ur defense is severely lacking

Dude, you barely post in these threads throughout the regular season (and judging by the content of your posts over the years, you barely watch any of those games either). Can't imagine you even have any idea when and where we play next without looking it up.

I don't get it either. Maybe Mickelson is just awful in practice, but Lucas is not good enough to run Self's offense. How much worse could it really get?

Selden was his normal lackadaisical self. Maybe he'll get his act together at some point this year, maybe he'll get his act together as a senior, or maybe he'll never get it together at all. Either way, I'm done hoping on that guy.

Both Greene and Svi should play more honestly, if only to allow spacing for the other guards to drive.

Could you imagine how good Brannen would look on a team that values spacing and shooting? Instead we have to watch Landen Lucas miss layups repeatedly.

Just an hour ago you said that you get why Self plays Lucas. Because he runs the offense effectively and makes few mistakes. So I'm confused. Lucas is a turd. I would rather see talent on the court that makes mistakes early on in the year instead of Lucas. Lucas is awful. Selden is a no show during big games. Has been his entire career, nothing is going to change. Self loves to play practice superstars unfortunately.

I don't get the problem with Greene. Sure he sucks defensively but Frank Mason got owned at least 8 times on the defensive end in the 2nd half.

Self has become way too bubby-buddy with certain players.

Cal doesn't pull that shit. If you suck you go to the bench.

Mason, Lucas, Selden, Traylor....rinse and repeat

Yes, I said I know why Self plays him. I know how he'd explain himself when asked. But I also said in that post (and again in the post you quoted) why I think he's wrong to do so. Lucas' skillset prevents him from efficiently scoring within that system.

The difference is that Mason is generally a very good defender, whereas Greene can't move laterally at all.

How much longer is KU playing in the Champion Classic? We should get out and let someone else in. 1-4 is pathetic!

What I don't get is that Greene's guy didn't try to drive to the bucket every time he got the ball. Maybe they were helping to that side, I didn't pay attention, but it seems like a bad game plan on states side. Greene was really damn jumpy and just laterally slow. Worse than last year. Maybe it is his hip.

All that being said, Greene didn't get housed all day like one would expect. And the defense of the unit wasn't horrid when he was in. I was hoping he would get some more time to hopefully hit some shots and open up the floor some. At least until his defense made him too much of a liability
