The thing is, he's created his own double standard and can only blame himself. He plays and stays angry. Oh, I've always admitted that Bautista is a super competitive asshole that relishes in beating others. The great ones in all sports often are (see MJ/Kobe in NBA, Bonds/Harper in MLB), though. He's one of those classic antagonizing players that you'd love if he was on your team and love to hate if he was on another, there are many out there like them.

This WAS a false narrative. Did you even read the article you posted or did you just google the headline and link it? It was a rumor about opening day that had no basis and didn't come to fruition in any way. Nice work proving yourself so spectacularly wrong.

I don't care what the Royals were or were not planning to do to the Mets. The article was only useful for my purposes to find the exact number of brawls the Royals were involved in and that total didn't disappoint.

And if actual MLB players hadn't come out saying exactly what I said, I'd be more prone to believing that.

Beltre must be a huge dude because he instantly runs in and bear hugs Joey Bats like a sack of potatoes and holds him by himself throughout the whole scrum. And nobody bothers him or comes near him lol.

Just because the play mlb didn't man they are smart.

What sense would it make to throwat his face there?

Let's try the common sense approach here

As if number of brawls tells the whole story. Who got disciplined for that Royals-Blue Jays game? No Royals, right?

It does mean they played the game and probably have a better idea than most about intentions. And I imagine it might have had something to do with with Bautista sliding into his legs at the time and him wanting to do something about that.

I'd say it's a pretty good indicator of a team with a tendency for conflict. Now obviously the Royals didn't instigate all of those situations, but Volquez/Donaldson was an obvious one where they did.
