Ronda Rousey vs. Floyd Mayweather who would win?

Almost everyone agrees that if boxing rules were used Mayweather would win. No contest.

So here is the rules for our hypothetical fight:

Either no rules or UFC rules.

I think Rousey gets him into an armbar in the 1st round and its over.

Floyd cant throw punches from his back? Not that it really matters because Ronda couldn't put him there anyways.

She's not used to getting punched in the face by somebody twice as strong as she is either. I think some guys around here don't remember what it's like to take a real good punch to the face. It ****ing sucks and to say it interrupts your train of thought is an understatement.

I don't really see how her superior ironing and sandwich making skills are going to help her win this fight.

You saying this makes it sound like he has any defense against a take down at all.

Other than running...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I think Floyds jab is about twice as hard as Meishas lead hook.

Umm, footwork, timing, reflexes... And running as well. Gus successfully kept an olympic wrestler from taking him down for 20 minutes by running...Have you ever seen Machida Fight? JDS? Gustaffson? Aldo? All of those guys use footwork, timing, and reflexes to avoid being taken down... Watch Jones vs Machida round 1.. Machida easily controls range against jones, and keeps him from even attempting takedowns...

1) Floyd isn't known for his KO power.
2) If Floyd gets taken down he doesn't have KO power.
3) One of the biggest things that leaves you with age is your wind/stamina. One round of MMA/Grappling feels like 3 on your feet boxing.

The only way I see a battle of the sexes working in MMA is if she fights a boxer her weight. She absolutely needs the advantage in experience, knowledge, and an opponent without KO power...

floyd hits much, much harder than anyone ronda's ever fought before, and this is the first time I've ever heard of anyone questioning his cardio. I mean, that's really LOL worthy. He has every single advantage. Strength, speed, experience, not to mention he's built like a brick shithouse. Just compare their densities. This would be an ugly, short, brutal beating that would leave everyone queasy by what they just witnessed. Ronda should just go ahead and fight cyborg if she's in a hurry to get hurt.

Those are experienced fighters (MMA) with ring time.

This would be more like the MMA of the 90's where you had style clashes like a Boxer vs. Judo or a Sumo wrestler vs. Tai Kwon Do (sp?) Back then you had world class wrestlers and judo experts owning all stand up fighters consistently.

Floyd would have a huge power advantage just because of the difference in gloves.

But what defense would have have against any submission? To have a solid defense you have to work on defending these moves and repeat them until muscle memory takes over.

Hell, Tank Abbott might have the hardest punch ever in the UFC but he never won a tournament because he never put in the mat time to do much more than stand up and really basic take downs. I think every match he lost was to someone smaller than him other than the one time he got dropped...

I think if you took a mid to low level MMA fighter (male) and put him up against Floyd you'd be shocked how easily Floyd would go down.

And I don't even mean a top 15 guy, I mean the guys on the under card...

Floyd has knocked out 26 professional male boxers... He has knockout power... I don't know if you've ever boxed or not, but it is INCREDIBLY hard landing a clean shot on a skilled fighter. Floyd would have absolutely no trouble what so ever hitting Ronda clean. She likely wouldn't even see it coming, and it would without a doubt be the hardest she's ever been hit in her entire life. It doesn't take very much power at all to knock someone out if they don't see a punch coming.

If Floyd gets taken down It would likely be over... Although I'm not so sure now after seeing her look like a 6 year old grappling Mousasi. She is still a woman... I would expect Ronda to Sub Floyd, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if he outmuscled her the way Jones outmuscled Vitors arm bar, or the Way Rampage Slammed his way out of a sub attempt by Arona. I have to think theres probably 2-3 times as big of a gap in terms of physicality between Ronda and Floyd as there is Between Jon and Vitor or Page and Arona.

We're not talking about her fighting those guys.

We're talking about her fighting a guy with absolutely 0 MMA/Grappling experience.

Punching power has very little to do with it...
