Derek Carr suffers high ankle sprain, MCL sprain

A miserable afternoon for the Oakland Raiders was exacerbated when quarterback Derek Carr was sidelined with a high ankle sprain and MCL sprain in the third quarter.

Carr's knee was twisted at the end of a scramble. Despite a heavy limp, he stayed in for one more play before it became obvious that he couldn't put any weight on the leg.

He was promptly sent to the locker room for X-rays and did not return.

The rookie authored an impressive opening touchdown drive vs. the Miami Dolphins, but failed to move the offense over the next two quarters.

Matt McGloin took over for Carr, only to see a bad snap returned for a 50-yard touchdown on his second play.

Their defense is still very good. Offensively, Kaepernick is mentally reeruned. So as long as they don't run the ball 30+ times, we'll be ok.

They could very well be the first 0-16 team in a long time.

Yeah, 49ers defense is playing its ass off.

McCoy isn't really all that fast, just quick and he can't do anything against the 49ers right now.

Also, the 49ers interior offensive line is awful.

I get all that, but you just don't figure he'd be this bad against a Philly D that is mediocre at best.

This.

And that red zone gimmick was pretty good during their SB run...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Eagle offense has been nothing short of mediocre in the first half of games in each of thier first 4 games, including this one.

They've been exploding in the second half of games.
