According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, the Reds have made Jay Bruce available via trade.
There have been similar rumblings from other sources over the past few weeks. Bruce has a decent .806 OPS with 13 home runs and 42 RBI in 84 games this season, and he's under contract through the 2017 campaign at a fairly reasonable rate ($12 million this year, $12.5 million next year, $13 million option the year after). The 28-year-old should draw interest from a range of teams. Look for the Reds to become major sellers almost as soon as the All-Star festivities conclude at Great American Ball Park.
If you trade for Bruce where do you play him and who do you move?

Even someone of your limited intellectual means should be able to grasp the significance of being up 6.5 compared to 2.5.

It's been 90 games

the 1st place Cardinals didn't lose the division, in July, because their CYBORG closer had a rough weekend

at this point, I don't even think Cardinals fans take pleasure out of watching their team play

It's hilarious. It's not just CP, either. It's every Cardinals fan. I have never seen a more negative group of fans in my entire life ... and all the team does is win, win and win some more. It's appalling, really.

You really need to see a shrink. Something is not right with you.

I enjoy the hell out of watching the Cardinals. I also think Matheny is a window licking reerun and they should fire the hitting coach. Doesn't mean I can't also enjoy watching them play.

Matheny is a moron. LaRussa was a moron. Joe Maddon is a moron.

Managers aren't that important in baseball. They just aren't. Just because 'Hamas' and DJ like to yell a lot, doesn't mean they're right. They both conceded the division and 'Hamas' set the O/U at 92 because one of the best closers in baseball blew 2 saves against the hottest team in baseball.

As a fellow 'know-it-all', god damn ... those two make me laugh my ass off when I lurk this thread during games.

You don't come in here to talk baseball. You obsess over a Cardinal fan or two saying negative things in a Cardinal thread and then you jump into the fray. Get a hobby.

He's taken to arguing with his straw men at this poing - there's really not much use in engaging him. He pretty much ignores any response and sticks with whatever dipshit narrative he's conjured up in his head.

I love it when trolls from other fan bases tell us how we should feel.

Inter divisional trades rarely happen. Who wants to face a pissed off player that turns into a star?

No, I don't believe it's any sort of indictment on Rosenthal the pitcher, but we had a chance go into the hottest team in baseball's barn, take 3 out of 4 and actually expand our lead despite being shorthanded and run down. Instead Rosenthal picked the absolute worst possible time to simply lose the feel for his pitches.

It took 2 batters last night to see that he wasn't going to get a handle on his stuff last night. Our only hope was for the "Motte Save" where 3 rockets are hit into somebody's glove. 3 blown saves in 2 days against the plucky upstart that is now absolutely convinced it can beat you and get to savor that fact for 4 days.

There's no way to spin this - it was an AWFUL weekend and ultimately I'm pretty sure we don't hold onto the division because of it.
Rosey threw 28 pitches less than 24 hours previously. That has to be a factor.

We all know that if Rosey can't prove early in an appearance that he can throw the off speed stuff for a strike, teams just rule it out and sit on that fastball. 98 or not, MLB players can hit 98MPH fastballs just as good as their predecessors 10 years ago hit 94MPH fastballs.

Rosey was also up in the zone. When he's effective he down in the zone and then climbs the ladder for the strike out.

Vilaveanu lools like the real deal. Why not give him the 7th?

I loved the shot of Pujols/Molina/Larussa hugging each other at the Home Run Derby. I don't see how the 2011 WS can be topped from a pure baseball perspective. Game 6 is the best WS game ever played.

It's memories from 2011 but it already seems like a different era a mere 4 years later.
