Belichick went 11-5 with Cassel and 3-1 with no name QB's.

Malcolm Butler, a no name college player from a small school that nobody wanted, was scouted by Belichick and won them their last SB.

Countless no names/former JAG's have been found by this guy on defense and they are still elite every single year

He's the best personnel guy in the sport.

To top it off, Bill prepares his guys to play games better than any other coach in recent memory. And that is a big reason why his guys go to bat for him every week, every year.
Excellent assessment! He would have cut half our OL, exiled our OL coach to Siberia, had only one playcalling OC, would have retired Hali and maybe DJ and dumped Albert Wilson and created real QB competition for Smith. All of this in the first month of offseason.

Yeah I think if you asked him to take over Cleveland now, he'd have his hands full. But he's got his system set up in New England. Losing Brady will hurt but they'll be competitive. They'll always be good at defense too, so that'll keep them in games. When you allow 15 ppg you don't need Tom Brady to win.

Cassel? They missed the playoffs and we won the division with Cassel one year.

What's your point? Other coaches find talent at the bottom as well. If he was so great why was he ran out of Cleveland after 5 years? You know why? He didn't didn't have Brady.

Please tell me what teams can lose Jamie Collins, Dominique Easely, Chandler Jones and Jerod Mayo and win with the following JAG's:

Chris Long
Kyle Van Noy
Shea McClellin
Alan Branch
Eric Rowe
Barkevious Mingo

Add in other mid rd picks like Trey Flowers and Logan Ryan.

If you knew anything about Belichick you'd know the Patriots won their early SB's bc of a dominating defense.

The NFL playoffs are weak this year. At least the 2 best teams made it to the SB.

Two picks for scores.....in the same game.

The Falcons defense.....improving immensely.
They played the Rams, 49ers and panthers in the games after the chiefs game. Literally 3 if the worst few teams in the league. Their defense is still not good. At all.

Did Shula not have Unitas and Marino?

Did Walsh not have Montana?

Did Lombardi not have Starr and like 8 other HOFers?

Did Noll not have like 10 HOFers?

Did Auerbach not have Russell?

Did Jackson not have Jordan/Shaq/Kobe?

Did Pop not have Duncan?

Please show me the list of awesome, HOF coaches who never had great players.

AND dealt with the Brady suspension without having it distract the whole team, AND lost Gronk after he just started getting healthy and really contributing.

The just should name it the "Bill Belichick Coach of the Year Award" and make him ineligible to get it. At this point, he needs to go 16-0 to have any chance of winning it, apparently.

Joe Gibbs won three Super Bowls with three different quarterbacks, and only one of them (Theismann) had any case at all for being elite. And he did it in an era where defenses were given a lot more freedom to play physical than they are now. He helped Coryell revolutionize the passing game in San Diego, then had success with run-first teams as a head coach. He invented the Trips formation and the two- and three-TE sets. In my opinion, Gibbs is the greatest coach of all time.

Yes, Gibbs stands pretty much alone in being able to do that, and I also think he was a great coach.

None of which undermines Belichick's claim to also being a great coach.
