(Slow day at work for me, guys):

Tom Brady:

2005: Gets crushed by Jake Plummer and the Denver Broncos. Plays HORRENDOUSLY. Embarrassingly bad.

2006: Blows an 18 point lead to Peyton Manning in the AFCCG. Plays horrendously, and ends the game in Indy territory throwing a game ending INT to Marlon Jackson. Great clutch play.

2007: 18-1. Scores 14 points in the Super Bowl in a game they are favored to win by 13.5. Also, in the AFCCG against the Chargers, he posted a QB rating of 18 and threw 3 INT's. Very clutch, I know.

2008: KNEE CRUSHER; Cassel wins 11 games as starting QB.

2009: Gets OBLITERATED by Joe Flacco and the Ravens. Loses the game single-handedly in the 1st quarter and posts a WHOPPING QBR OF 4.2. Not a typo. FOUR POINT TWO. FOUR POINT TWO. In reference, Peyton posted a 24.4 last year against Seattle in the Super Bowl. So picture how bad that performance was, and multiply it by about 25.

2010: Lost @ home to MARK SANCHEZ AND THE JETS. But don't worry guys, Tom Brady doubled his QBR in this one and posted a respectable 8.7 EIGHT POINT SEVEN.

2011: Got to the Super Bowl by beating Tim Tebow, playing HORRENDOUSLY against the Ravens (again) in the Lee Evans game, and then overthrowing Welker to lose another Super Bowl. Clutch.

2012: Got obliterated by Joe Flacco and the Ravens despite being favored by 7. He posted a respectable 40 QBR, though, and only lost by 15 ... despite Peyton beating the team the week before only to be Rahim Moore'd. Great clutch play.

2013: Beat Andrew Luck despite throwing 0 TD's. Lost to Peyton Manning, while playing another mediocre game. 1 TD. Very clutch, Mr. Brady!

So, in short, the biggest playoff choking QB in the NFL right now is Tom Brady. In all of those aforementioned choke jobs, he was favored to lose TWICE, both to Peyton Manning (both losses).

Any more myths you want be to bust?

4.2 QBR and 8.7 QBR is Rex Grossman bad, in case anyone wanted a reference point.

Hootie, you (and we through you) suffer from a rather commonplace malady. This malady is wanting something to be true and then trying to make facts fit your opinion, as opposed to viewing the facts and forming an opinion based on those facts.

What if Brady never won those superbowls, what if vinitarei missed the kicks? Brady would not be viewed as highly without all his rings.

I agree he has not been clutch for the past 10 years in the playoffs. How can you argue that he has been? His surrounding cast hasn't been as good though.

The whole premise of "clutch/choker" is pretty ridiculous in the first place.
The best players will have more success than failures, but they will still have failures. Focus on the failures and make a list of them and you can make anyone look bad.

And a QB still needs a DEF to play well, a line to block, and receivers to catch. The best QBs will accrue wins because they help put themselves in a position to win so many times. Not winning doesn't mean a choke--there's lots of reasons for a football team not to win and any smart and honest fan knows that.

One could definitely make that argument. He's lost 8 games (6 of them when he was favored) and 2 to Manning (the games he was not favored) in his last 8 playoff appearances.

I don't think Peyton Manning has ever been 18-0, favored to win a Super Bowl by 13.5 points, mocked an opposing player for suggesting the Patriots only score 17 points ... and then proceed to play the worst game of his season (by far), put up only 14 points (1 more point than the gap of what they were favored), lose, and then get the happy consolation prize of being the only team to ever go 18-1.

but that's not choking because Tom Brady's offensive line didn't play good enough. Brady played excellent. His line just played really bad. So he gets an excuse for that.

when the Cowboys lost to that same Giants team that destroyed Romo with that same pass rush ... and Romo STILL HAD THEM BEAT if Crayton doesn't drop an EASY TD pass where Romo made an UNBELIEVABLE play...

Romo is referenced to as a choker for THAT VERY GAME. For throwing a hail mary pick after Eli had a game winning drive.

Fivehead DID lead the so-called "greatest offense ever" to only 8 points in the Super Bowl. But it's okay, he got his regular season records!

how is that any different then what Tom did against NYG when the Pats were literally 1 game away from being the unquestioned best team in NFL history? Instead, 18 - 1 and now it's a huge joke.

Also, I made $500 on Seattle last year because I knew they'd win. I had them in everything from the get go. They were a TERRIBLE matchup for Manning and his short passing game. I was a huge Seattle mark last year.
