Well, how would you break it down?

I supported Haley too at first for all the same reasons. Then when I saw how he was going about camp last year I was off the bandwagon. Sure it was a shortened camp but every team had that same problem. A good coach finds a way to adapt to that. A bad coach does what Haley did.

huh?

Haley is a paid professional who was considered the leagues 'hottest HC prospect'. Pioli gave him 2 veteran coordinators in Gailey and Crennel.

what more did you want Pioli to do, hold his ****ing hand everyday?

That crying bitch Haley couldn't handle 'sharing' authority with anyone about the offense so he fired Gailey RIGHT before the season started. You never change a coordinator that close to the season ... NEVER. Pioli was trying to give Haley what he wanted so he let him take over. It was a disaster.

So then the next season Pioli went out and spent 5 million dollars to get a premiere OC to team with Crennel. The 2 highest paid and decorated coordinator group in the league in weis and crennel. The team got better.

Getting better wasn't good enough for Haley, he would rather lose controlling the offense himself than let someone else run things and win. Weis got sick of his shit and left.

Haley didn't want another OC so he just promoted some old offensive line coach to be his 'foot shuffling porter' and ran the offense himself. It was a disaster.

In fact, the level of the offense was a direct reflection of Haley. The more control Haley had, the worse the offense got. So he got fired.

The first game after Haley is gone and we looked more prepared than we have in years.

Time to let this Haley support go ... he just wasn't ready.

Playing Palko over Orton? Stupid
Playing Becth, DMC, Urban, McClain on 3rd down passing situations? Stupid
Playing your starters into the 4th qtr in the 4th preseason game? Stupid
Firing your OC a couple weeks before the regular season and starting from scratch? Stupid
Stripping playcalling from Charlie Weis at halftime in a playoff game when the score is 10-7? Stupid
Hiring an OC that's a puppet "yes man", but then has trouble staying awake in games? Stupid.

I thought Haley's temper was comical at times. His blowups on the sideline made for some good comedy. But it also showed his immaturity and stubbornness as a head coach. He was just completely in way over his head as a Head Coach. More consistency with the coaching staff will pay off with better game preparation this season if nothing else. If Romeo's good at one thing it's preparation from what colleagues around the game have said. Daboll may not be a good X's and O's guy (maybe he will be I don't know) but you can allow your OC to get into a rhythm play calling wise, and with the talent we have, it can allow good things to happen.

I was OK with the Haley hiring at first. He did bring some hard nosed reality back to the team. But I have to agree with Laz. The guy was a control freak, not to mention some of the other things he was.
We were ready to play last night. The 1st team offense looked crisp.

First year we had Pendergrast.

I agree he wasn't ready, but who hired him? He showed in Arizona and Dallas to be a petulant child, fighting with wr's on the sideline.

Was anyone else (and this may have already been stated) really excited to see a well-timed and well-executed screen play last night? Be it preseason or regular season, Haley couldn't devise a successful screen play to save his life.

This is what we need Bailey and Poe to do in sub stuff. Bull rush and collapse the pocket from the inside.

Even here, they didn't get a great push, just a push. Some kind of push.

Granted, it was a very nice throw.

This offense is not going to work if Dexter, or any slot receiver, is getting all the catches.

We heard about Baldwin The God ****er for weeks now and there was not shit to see tonight.

damnit Pioli!!!

face it, you're going to bitch at Pioli no matter what. When it goes wrong, it's Pioli's fault. When it goes right then it's someone else's success.

have a nice day

You got me wrong man, I'm a pretty firm Pioli supporter. Just saying that I think the Haley hiring wasn't a good one. It's not all on Pioli, as Haley did infact turn out to be a crazy dude.

I think he has learned from the experience. I'm not gonna bash Pioli for the hiring, he was an up and coming OC. But there were some signs before he hired him that would have lead you to believe things were gonna go the way they did.

don't write off Manning

I think the donks are going to be much better than most people think.

I just hope their Oline falls apart and Manning gets body slammed every game.

I just can't figure out the Pioli bashing. Dude has done an AWESOME job of getting the pieces this team, and Cassel need.
Maybe a PO win is what people need. I think they're gonna get it this season.
What has it been? 17 years? Damn, no wonder.

This play alone has to satisfy Poe as the fruits of his labor resulted in a sack.
