Chiefs are planning to retain Romeo Crennel and remove interim tag

Chiefs are planning to retain Romeo Crennel and remove interim tag from his title. Move would be popular in the locker room.

If they keep Cassel then Pioli has put his job on the line with this decision.

continuity helps a lot of things but also puts a big bullseye on the decision maker.

Draft, draft, draft, draft. If Orton keeps the seat warm, cool. If Orton is considered the answer, they all need to **** their mothers.
There are three scenarios

Cassel -v- Orton --> No brainer
Orton -v- all QBs available to us BEFORE Orton walks --> pretty much a no brainer as well
Orton -v- FA Manning and/or draft maneuvers --> different matter entirely, but even then nothing is guaranteed us as we have neither #1 pick in the draft nor exclusive rights to Manning. Depends on what presents itself wrt opportunity and cost.

I disagree on this. Remember, it was hunt who basically gave herm license to rebuild the team even though peterson's approach probably would have led to more short term wins. And it sounded pretty clear that he had an almost informal agreement with herm that his job would be safe even if they had a losing season in 2008.

Judging by piolis demeanor in the press conference I truly believe pioli is walking on egg shells right now. I think bunt seems like a guy who actively holds his GMs accountable. I think if this team sinks, piolis gone.

That's funny.

I think I might start using this as his new nickname.

Why! He went out and spent a lot of money on a rock star gm. It was like hiring parcels only to realize you were getting a retread version of him.

He fired a gm, hired the most coveted candidate, and it appears he grilled the shit out of pioli a few months ago. As for cheapness, I don't know if we know how much that's a hunt directive or how much that is pioli trying to arrogantly prove he can build a team for less. That was his m.o. In new England.

I don't have a problem with what hunts done so far. We're not losing because we aren't spending. We are losing because the all star has made a few huge miscalculations.

He does with the sport he truly cares about: soccer.

There is a fundamental disagreement with how we view the team and how Clark viewed it. To the Hunts, the Chiefs are an asset, an investment. It's a financial property, not an emotional one. It's also a guaranteed bankable profit.

I think his passion is soccer, and its reflected by the difference in the way the teams are managed.

Soccer teams don't mean jack shit. The MLS salary cap is what the Chiefs just paid Bobby Greenwood. Its like a car dealer buying a driving range since he likes golf. Of course you are going to be more conservative with your big money maker than you are with your hobby.

A lot of smart people dont get that the soccer team costs about the same to run per year as these families make in about a week
