-- Is a Marco's Pizza food thread overdue, here?
Oh I think so!
Now that you all have them in and near KC - have you tried? For those of you in the SE have you tried Jet's Pizza yet? Which other 'off the radar' pizza chains have you been too? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco's_Pizza Just Ordered 3 medium 2-toppings #1 - Thin, Hamburger + Onion #2 - Thin, Canadian Bacon + Mushroom #3 - Thing, 1/2 Canadian Bacon, Mushroom - 1/2 beef, jalapenos I know they were never delicious - but I absolutely DO miss Pizza Inn and Mazzio's. We had a Pizza Inn here in Atlanta off 285 until around (I'd Say) 94ish. I remember dad clipping the coupons out of the Blue Springs Examiner for the Pizza Inn deals. Not sure I ever tried - Ken's. Ken's anyone? Maybe Joplin or Carthage - not sure. Last edited by Simply Red; 12-01-2017 at 12:59 PM.. |

Last night I had a delicious hand tossed, wood fired, Napoli style pizza. It had salami and jalepenos and honey. Of course some basil and mozzarella with a spicy tomato sauce. The honey with the heat was really nice. Plus the guy tossing the dough was very engaging. I had some birthday cake gelato with sprinkles as well. It's been a weekend of indulgence as Saturday I had plenty of vodka to make up for two dry months. Time to clean up again.

I'm sorry but I just can't appreciate the taper of the thing.

It's a local bread maker that has expanded into pizza. All sourdough which I like in pizza.

I did the 8 corner deep dish pepperoni with butter crust. I'd honestly consider it more of a pan pizza as opposed to a deep dish, but it is without a doubt a very comforting pizza nonetheless. Jet's ranch dip is top notch too if you're into that kind of thing.

oh yeah - I'm not into the ranch thing - But I'm glad you like it. Jets is pretty damned good. Again though - I always get their Pan - wonder how the other is there? Hand-tossed or whatever it's called.

Yes! They're actually my favorite pizza in the area. Their problem is mainly consistency. When it's good, it's really good...but I've also been there on an off day and had bad pizza.
They could also stand to have some consistency with their ingredients. For example, I like pineapple and ham on my pizza. Sometimes they've used little cubed bits of ham, sometimes it's chunks of ham, and other times it's been slices of ham. I like to know what I'm getting when I buy a pizza. But overall, very good pizza! Thanks for asking! |

Is Godfathers still a thing? Back in the day it was the first pan pizza I ever had and loved it. I know there is one still by where I live but have not been in 10 to 15 years. No one mentions them so like so many they turned to serving slop to make a buck probably. Never seems to much of a crown in the lot anymore.
