Where’s our dline rank? How should we improve?

https://www.ftnfantasy.com/articles/...-line-rankings

I have no idea if this site is credible but it’s about what I expected. Chiefs are ranked are 22nd dline in the nfl. I’ve been slapped around pretty good around here for suggesting we upgrade the d line by trading for chase young. So, how do we upgrade the dline? And so many here are consumed with upgrading the offense when we’re already the number 1 offense and I could see us getting better even with our wrs, not worse, so I don’t see us needing to upgrade offensively (we don’t need Dhop with his price tag) as much as we should focus on the defense, especially the dline. So, is there a way we could improve the defense? How would you improve the defense, especially the dline? Great dline play is critical to a good spags defense.

I know it's at least MUCH better than the Penn State professor accused of performing sexual acts with his dog

Is there anything even reasonable Veach can do about it at this point? Is there a pile of great FA DL players waiting to be signed out there?

This is the most talent we've had at edge in a while. Unless something happens with Chris Jones or the young guys all disappoint, the dline is not a weakness.

But that's true across the roster. Veach relies on his coaching staff getting these guys on the field early and developing them.

I still prefer the 1990s D-line with Dan Saleamua, Joe Phillips (his wife was hot), Neil Smith, John Browning (coolest name ever), Keith Traitor, and Vaughn Booker.

Plus, Derrick Thomas was basically a d-lineman.

Looks pretty good to me, outside of Nnadi. Hopefully he won't be starting.

Chris Jones- brings 15.5 sacks and 56 pressures

Newly added CHARLES OMENIHU-54 pressures next to jones? Oh my

GEORGE KARLAFTIS had 7 sacks and 48 pressures as rookie, but feels like he could breakout with a much bigger season with many more pressures and a few more sacks.

Felix drafted in first as a pass rusher- 7-10 sacks seems reasonably expected

DERRICK NNADI sold run stuffer, could upgrade position

D line looks good and could even add a body before season starts

However, combine that slime with one of the best set of LBers we’ve seen in a very long time

Best set of safeties and corners we’ve had in decades

This defense will be the best and most dominant we’ve seen in mahomes era

Slime? What's with the new jargon all of the sudden? First, "Confection," then "funko pop," whatever that is, now "Slime."

Are we still talking about football?

Who could we add? Anyone available? I wonder if the dline is like the wr group last year where we add someone like we did with toney last year? Who could we sign via free agency or trade for?

What’s the weakest position group or the group with the most question marks on the team? I’d argue that it’s probably the dline. I know some might say the wr group but If you consider kelce as a pass catcher, mahomes has plenty of targets to throw to.

Omenihu's signing buys us some wiggle room on that, but if George can be productive on the edge when Omenihu is rushing from the interior on obvious passing downs, this DLine could be pretty damn good.
I think that’s part of the problem. Karlaftis looks like a solid player to me. He plays hard and to the whistle. He’s physical with his bill rush and can play the run also. He’s not bendy as a pass rusher and doesn’t offer that high end edge rushing potential, IMO. Can FAU? I don’t know. Let’s hope so. FAU does use his hands well on the tape I saw.

It’s the off season and I want to talk about how we can improve. What else am I supposed to do? I don’t have any option but to wait. I was hoping someone could throw out some names for a DT that we could trade for or sign? Any DTs that anyone knows of that we could acquire?

This doesn’t sound like a good idea?

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-one-tra...aining-camp#KC

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS should SIGN DI WILL GHOLSTON

Gholston is a seasoned veteran who has played at least 400 snaps in nine consecutive seasons. He can bring experience to a new regime while providing a consistent presence in base personnel on early downs. In 2022, Gholston had 22 defensive stops and missed on just 3.9% of tackle opportunities.

We discussed extending Chris Jones here, and as Kansas City works through that monster deal, they should reinforce the interior unit alongside him.

I don't understand this list or how they came up with their rankings. If they are using PFF rankings, then the fact that this team has PFF's Defensive Player of the Year on it should automatically put us in the top half, but we have back to back 1st round DEs and a guy in Omenihu that can get after the QB when given the opportunity. We should be top 5-10.

Also why are we posting stupid articles for random obscure sites? Rage baiting?
