How bad was the decision to not keep Rodney Hudson?
Hudsen has gone on to become one of the best centers in the league for the Raiders while we've had nothing but trouble with the center position ever since.

I imagine that shitty Andy Heck makes a difference but still, not good.

Rodney Hudson has developed into the NFL's best pass-protection center since arriving in Oakland in 2015, and he's been key in keeping Derek Carr upright on so many of his reps. Hudson's strength is the trump card, and when he combines that with his relentless effort and active feet, it's hard to generate leverage or get him out of position.

Oakland's offense was a problem in 2017, and that included a line that regressed in both run and pass blocking. But when Hudson's isolated on tape, it's clear he's still a tremendous player. What does that even mean?

We struggle at center because Morse can't stay healthy.

It costs us at center because Morse doesn't seem to have the strength to move the big,fat guys on the inside. It really hurts on short yardage when your center is most effective when he has to pull.

The money that they are paying Hudson is part of the money that has them in cap hell now. Cap hell cost them Mack. Ask 100 NFL coaches and GMs. 99 of them would not sign Mack at that price if they know that it would lead to them being unable to afford their elite passrusher. Hudson was still a badass when he was with us. Our line has had its issues but not signing Hudson hasn’t been detrimental to our offense.
