Homers were drooling, anyway. Some of us were paying attention and can see right through the smoke and mirrors. That defense was getting shredded up and down by teams like the Eagles and Redskins -- it was just luck, a bounce here and there, lots of happen-chance that we didn't give up 30+ and lose.

I would put this defense up against most in the league and say there's less talent. It has a lot of NAME value, but in terms of actual football quality, boy it's ****ing ugly.

The offensive roster IS pretty good, though, and they should've driven for a FG on either of those last 2 drives and all of this is moot. THAT was a total letdown.

No. That's on the players. Guys like Allen Bailey, DJ, Parker - these guys are just straight puke, but our fans think they're good because, at one point or another, they were; or they at least made some plays here and there; or in Bailey's case, they look great at training camp in shorts.

Good players succeed no matter who's coaching, let's be honest. Not saying Sutton doesn't deserve blame -- you could fire him for all I care -- but no one else is gonna come in and make those guys look any better. There's no system that's gonna get anything out of Allen Bailey -- he's just not that good at football. No DC is gonna inspire Derrick Johnson -- he's just too old and crusty around the edges. Im just saying a lack of money matters. Take a look at where or backfield cam from. Take a look at where at where our OL depth came from. You fill in holes with money and Dorsey never did bevause his cap management was a disaster.
