Let's talk about the Steelers...

Here we go, one of the games we circled this year.... although I don't think anyone expected us to be headed back home for this one at 5-0, or for Pittsburgh to be 3-2.

We know the story. They had our number in 2016 with two crushing losses. A lot has changed in 9 months, though....

For one, quarterback play. Alex Smith 2.0 is legitimately playing like the best QB in the NFL right now. Ben Roethlisberger, coming off of a 5 interception performance, looks like one of the worst. He also showed his dramatic nature yesterday when he questioned if he had what it takes anymore toward the media.

Pittsburgh currently has the 28th ranked run defense in the NFL, and Kareem Hunt is playing like the NFL's best RB. Seems like a good recipe for us, especially since Mitch Morse and/or LDT should be back for Sunday. I would guess only Morse. Le'Veon Bell is not playing up to his normal standards thus far, as he has only looked dominant in one game. However, this looks like a tough matchup for us there, as we are the 20th ranked run defense and coming off of a bad performance Sunday night in that regard. Both offensive lines are solid groups, although Pittsburgh's has not been as dominant as they were last year.

Pittsburgh has the #1 ranked pass defense right now. Part of that likely stems from their quality of opponents so far. However, we are going to need Kelce Sunday. If the Chiefs have their three-headed monster against Pittsburgh, they are going to be able to put up points. I think they would against about anyone, if Smith is given serviceable pass protection.

Our pass defense is struggling statistically, although anyone who watched last night could tell you that they were almost always in position to make plays on the back end. The Houston receivers always made the play, though, unfortunately. The Chiefs could really use the boost of Dee Ford and Tamba Hali to help bring pressure off of both edges consistently. I think we will probably see Dee this week, but who knows. The great thing about being 5-0 right now is they still have a lot of room to improve. The defense is no where near as good as they can be. Hopefully they hit stride down the stretch in Dec/Jan when the temps drop down.

Predictions are highly dependent on injuries, but because of all of the drama in Pittsburgh right now and KC being at home-- I am taking KC.

Chiefs 30, Steelers 24

Said it in the other thread.

Last year they got their asses handed to them the week before they crushed us. Hopefully we’re firing on all cylinders.

Chiefs gonna go through a mid-season gauntlet these next 4 games, would be nice if Chiefs took at least 3 of them. Would really start to set themselves apart from rest of the pack in AFCW.

I get the sense that Ben isn't done physically but, he is done mentally. He doesn't look like he wants to play anymore. I expect an epic sideline altercation between he and Haley in the near future. I hope Ben knocks him out cold. That is what I hope to see. I would rather see that than a KC win. I hate me some Happy Gilmore.

They worry me because I have a feeling we will get their best game this year but I also know the Chiefs will want to take out last year's playoff loss on them.

Big Ben has given up and this is a sad message to his team. I think we continue to roll and beat them hands down. Seeing the Chiefs win, on the road at Houston with the current hottest QB in the league, who, mind you, threw 5 TD passes on us and we still win? Yeah, we will be fine. If I had to have a game to worry about, it is Dallas. They are becoming last years team and hungry after the loss to Green Bay.

Yup. I mentioned the same thing in the GDT. It’ll be a game for sure.

Yeah, I expect the same effort this week from Pitt/tomlin.

I despise them, so I hope we come out twice as motivated as them and drop 50 on them.

The bad thing is - we're due for a loss.......and we're coming up on a stretch where I despise all of our opponents and would hate to lose to any of them....but if I had to choose, it wouldnt be the Donks or Fade, so that leaves Pitt.

Or we can just win every game and drop a meaningless game to dallas or buffalo later.
1. This is 2017, not 2016. We have the top offense in the NFL

2. They've been sayin we're "due for a loss" since the Philly game
