Has anybody mentioned this from the Redskins game?

That despite K-pass being active for the game, the Chiefs trotted out Terrance Smith at OLB to spell Zombo?

I'm telling you, we've got to get this rookie settled in at DL and stop trying to make the OLB experiment work.

Considering the lack of pass rush from both Zombo and whatever was spelling him, put the kid in. He's listed as Ford's backup, Ford didn't play ----. I personally was encouraged by his OLB play in the preseason.

Yeah.

Willis and Wormley were the defensive guys I really liked at that spot. Willis in particular would've been a great pick.

It took a while and some squinting to see what we were doing with the K-Pass pick but I think that was a time that Dorsey let his scout hat run too far out in front of his GM hat. He saw the tools that give scouts a semi but didn't dial that back and recognize that there was a real chance that this was a 3 year project and his team needed the help now.

Not a great pick, IMO.

Maybe for the moment. He might get better. But those short arms ain't going away, and if he's already maxed out as a player, that's not very good.
From the little bit I saw of him in the preseason, I wasn't wowed. Hopefully he's just getting used to the game and is coachable, but he just didn't seem physically smooth at all in my opinion.

That points me more toward using him as a lineman than a linebacker, by the way.

But then again, I only saw him for parts of two preseason games, so maybe my perception is inaccurate.

Exactly. Some guys look great coming off the bus. Sometimes that doesn't translate to the field. Jury is still out on Kpass, but I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Especially when your first rounder is going to be a red shirt situation

There were some better suited 34 Olb guys there it seems

My assumption was that he was going to be a d-lineman. I don't know what the **** is up with this OLB experiment they're doing.

Kinda wonder if they're just throwing shit at the walk for the OLB spot

Dorsey didn't ever seem to be interested in addressing the depth there now they have ford and halo hurt and no depth

Yeah I don't understand that one either. If you took Kpass expecting him to be an OLB, why the hell don't you just take Willis?

If you take him to play DL over Wormley who has a far lower ceiling, I get that. But at least then you're asking a green player to improve at a position he's somewhat familiar with.

If you put him at OLB, you're asking him to not just get better but to get better while learning something entirely different. And to pass on a guy with damn good measurables and productivity in Willis to do that...

It was a weird pick.
