Why is my internet so damn slow?
I have 1 gig internet up and down and this is all I get on wifi

You won't ever get the full gig. What your showing is pretty fast really. You should be happy with it.

I guess it's like saying the chiefs have Alex smith and will always get to the playoffs but will never advance to the SB.

Even I can turn an IT question into an AS thread...

My lord, you guys have some good internet. The absolute fastest internet I can get at my house through AT&T is 45 mbps.

My dad lives 15 minutes outside of Omaha, and he literally gets 1.5 mbps through Century Link, and he cannot get any faster internet through them. It's not even the real country, tons of houses around, just big acreages. Why haven't we solved the internet yet, I have no idea.

Our electric co-op put in fiber optic and I can get 300mps up and down. Could go to gigabit speed if I wanted to spend the $$$. Sometimes it's good to live in the boonies.

Some of the speedtest sites suck... there were a couple in/around KC that would consistently show 30 or 40 down, but one in Chicago that would consistently show over 100.
