Honestly, I forgot those things existed. It completely slipped my mind.
The fire TV seems snappy as hell. That car game was like 1.5gb download and rivals a gaming system game. It like outrun need for speed ish. Fun as hell. I will have to look in to the Xbmc thing |

Been buying Apple loyally since 1988. In this case, I bought a Roku because it's cheaper and I watch very little video.

I've been thinking of getting a Roku. What's the difference between the box and the stick?

I've had a Roku for a few years, the little box. Works great. We wore out the "OK" button on the remote and I did finally get an all-in-one remote a few months ago.

https://www.roku.com/products/compare The stick is great if you want something to hide behind a TV completely invisibly, but it's not near as fast a device as the Roku 2 or Roku 3 (and I don't really see a good reason to buy a Roku 1 at all these days). The difference between the 2 and 3 is pretty much the remote - IR for the 2 and radio for the 3, plus the 3 has remote audio listening and voice search. IMO, if you're looking for one to go with your main TV in the house, it's worth a little extra to get the 2 or 3. The stick makes a great option for a less-used TV in a bedroom. |

A Miracast dongle looks like it can do anything the Chromecast, Roku, or Fire tv can do.

I just mean that I wouldn't buy one today for $50 when the Stick is the same price. The biggest difference you would see, though, is speed. The 3 and the 2015 2 are way faster than the old ones.
