Interesting notes from Reid's press conference today

@TerezPaylor: Reid on his starting right tackle: "Right now we've got Donald Stephenson there. We'll see how it goes."

@TerezPaylor: Reid says tackle might be Jeff Allen's best position. Says he's coming off that injury but will compete there.

@TerezPaylor: Reid says the #Chiefs can get more playing time by being used the way he was toward the end of the year. Needs to improve run defense.

@TerezPaylor: Reid on Stephenson: "He was suspended early and gave another guy (Harris) an opportunity...there should be great competition there."

@TerezPaylor: Reid says Travis Kelce played last year at 250. Says he could easily be a really good player at 265, like he was in college.

@TerezPaylor: Reid says he did not have an opportunity to visit with Marcus Mariota, but he's a "pretty good player."

@TerezPaylor: Reid says getting through a 16 game season "was big" for Fisher. Needed "to pound through all the things" mentally, that come in full season

@TerezPaylor: Reid says Dee Ford can get more playing time by being used the way he was toward the end of the year. Needs to improve run defense.

Does he realize that Harris is not on the team correct?
First part of the sentence refers to last year.
Second part of the sentence refers to Allen vs. Stephenson.

maybe a repost

http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2015/3...fan-wisniewski

Quote:
A report from Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune names the Chiefs as one of the teams who are interested in Stefan Wisniewski, who hit the market last week after the Raiders let him walk and opted for Hudson instead.

"Wisniewski is recovering from shoulder surgery after last season when he played with a torn labrum. The former second-round pick of the Raiders has made visits to the Seahawks and Bucs, and the Rams and Chiefs are also known to be interested. No team has been willing to meet his request of $4 million per season and it could be he winds up on a one- or two-year prove-it contract."

Unless the Chiefs draft a right tackle that ends up starting this season, I believe both Stephenson and Allen make the squad. From my perspective, it's Stephenson's job to lose because he's very valuable as a swing tackke.

He was the top rated blocking TE already. I don't want to see him bulk up and lose any quickness, but if they feel he can, then I bet he can.

I mean what happened to Stephenson...yeah he was suspended for 4 games but he was an up and comer supposed to come off of an improving 2013 season, he was headed in right direction. He must have pissed off Reid somehow...something other than just the 4-game suspension...something just doesn't sound right considering he was benched the whole year for someone that's clearly not as good.

@TerezPaylor: #Chiefs coach Andy Reid on #Raiders QB Derek Carr: "Jack (Del Rio’s) got a good situation. That kid can play. Like, really play."
