Just went out with the night vision and found several satellites but the only thing that I saw that may have been the comet just looked like a dim blurry star.

If that was it then I must say , B o r I n g

I think you had the wrong thing. Its (as of 2 days ago) really bright for a "star". Without a good telescope you will just see a very bright fuzzy star, but to be able to see a few 100 yard chunk of rock at millions of miles away is impressive to me. Maybe its just me though.

I remember a time when we were working with the Canadian folks on the east coast of Canada and even though I had seen some nights when the sky was just bursting with stars, I can recall one like the three nights were were with them.
