I don't think we've discussed this yet, so here you go. Up to five of these guys (plus the one senior candidate) can go in. You make the vote when the poll goes up and I release white smoke from the chimney.

Edit: Two other finalists weren't in the poll because the profootballhof listed them separately. Bill Polian and Ron Wolf are also finalists if you want to vote for them as write-ins.

My dislike of Junior is relatively mild, and I figure he's going in. I'm not going to grouse too much. My complaint about him is that I don't remember him as a decisive playmaker and I think he had a big case of Sam Huff Syndrome. He would make a routine play and go dancing around like Elaine Benes at a Christmas party, so it was easy for the announcers to lock in on him and talk about him. I think a part of his fame is just the fact that he got a lot of publicity, which is exactly old-timers say happened with "The Violent World of Sam Huff". He's famous because he's famous.

I find it interesting that both Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce got knocked out in the semis. I think it was too crowded a field of Rams.

And while I must preface this by saying how much I hate the Broncos, I think Rod Smith and Karl Mecklenburg are better candidates for the Hall of Fame than Terrell Davis.

What he did in Tampa Bay was much more impressive. Still not HOF, though.

Yeah, I think in most years that hurts him more than helps him, but the more I think about it, maybe in the current environment it actually will help. Maybe the NFL will want to show solidarity with struggling ex-players.

Some may disagree, but I would vote for Leslie O'Neal over Junior Seau when it comes to Chargers. O'Neal was a monster. If not for a knee injury, he'd be top five all time in sacks and maybe top two. But he never even gets mentioned.

I'm compeltely befuddled that anyone doesn't think Seau is a sure fire, no question, no doubt first ballot HOFer.

19 year career, MANY first team All Pros, many Pro Bowls, starter on 1990s All Decade team, Defensive POY. It's not a resume many can match.

If Manning's legacy is diminished due to his postseason woes, Davis' legacy should be strong enough for the HOF, considering that he is the best playoff RB of all time.

Yes but with him you have cheating Broncos cheating the salary cap and lubricated O-linemen.

I've always wondered about this too. He was just elected the Chargers Hall of Fame this year. They put in Darren Bennett before him. Bennett was a cool punter who clocked a few returners with his Aussie Rules tackling style but, c'mon, a punter over a guy who's tied at No. 11 in all-time sacks with Lawrence Taylor?
