So, do I have to let the whole page load or can I just keep clicking and hitting back? I mean you can pay me to sit at home clicking ads for 8 hours a day. I could probably click at least 30 times a minute, 7.50 per minute comes out to 3800 a day.

Ha, I think Google is smarter than that. In reality the ads are a mix of pay per click and pay per 1000 views. I have no clue which are which at any given time. On the ads that are pay per 1000 views, clicks don't directly give revenue but they do increase the likelihood of advertisers bidding higher for the ad space. (I think, to be honest they keep the specifics hazy on purpose)
