Why? The writing is on the wall for him next year. He's likely gone. He's restructured once already last offseason and I don't see the point in pushing money ahead with him if he's going to be gone anyway.

So not only would we be weak at safety, we'd be weak at cb as well. Hell, why don't we just trade the whole secondary for a bunch of 6th round picks?

I'd take a 2nd for him.
Anything less than that, and I'd honestly just prefer we play him for a year and cut him in 2015 if he won't agree to a pay cut. |

It wouldn't take me much because he's going to be cut after this season.

We aren't going to get a second for Flowers.

I'd trade a third for him honestly. The Chiefs have got in the habit lately of giving huge contracts to players who are just "pretty good". With the injuries Flowers sustains every season he isn't worth his contract.

Anyone that wouldn't take the 18th pick for Flowers would be stupid. Flowers is not worth that especially with his contract.
I would say getting the 18th pick and saving 3 mil on the cap would be a great move.

Could we even get a 3rd rounder for him? I doubt it.

It is very likely that Flowers will be cut next offseason. His cap number this year is 10.5 mil next year it is 11.5 mil there is no way he is worth that kind of money.
If we could get the 18th overall and save 3 mil in cap space this year knowing that next year we get nothing, that move should be made. With the 18th pick we could get one of the top two CBs in this draft and have 3 mil to sign a decent vet for the OLine so we don't have to use a high pick on it this year.
