I went to Universal Studios with my family on vacation when I was about 10 or 12 and the highlight of our tour that I remember was seeing the potomkin-like house front from the intro to Leave It To Beaver.
Apparently, you can't see it on the tour anymore since it's been moved to a backlot, but you can see the house from the 1996 LITB movie.

Anyone remember the Lost Beavers on the radio? That was some funny shit.
I credit shows like Leave it to Beaver with creating counter-productive national nostalgia for idyllic America that never really existed. Still my favorite show watching the reruns growing up. Ward always sorted everything out. Very comforting. |
