What a roller coaster.

I think a lot of people are smartly seeing this as a buying opportunity. A lot of those automatic buy orders are getting activated when prices drop to a certain level too.

People smartly got their money onto the sidelines before the government stepped in to screw things up, and now are scooping up bargains... looking like the cat who swallowed the canary for the time being.

I'd bet that being rich, even 10-20% less rich than you were two weeks ago, is still better than always having been a have-not

Well... at least it didn't close down 700, and the fact that it was positive at all is a good sign.

Umm... You love it? I'm guessing you have zero investments, no 401k and nothing in the bond or money markets? Or money in a bank? Certainly the ultra-rich are being hit the hardest, but don't think for a second that it doesn't affect every single one of us.

I got 27 bucks in cash, a beater car and I owe my bank way more in crappy loans than I have in my checking account. So I'm not to worried... but to be serious, I hate for bad things to happen to other people... Like the layoff thread that was posted earlier by Redrum_69

I find that having very little to lose actually makes life very enjoyable and much less stressful. Have not, lose not.

I do get depress when I can't scrape up the extra 6 bucks for the 30 pack o'Stones and have to settle for the natty, but 4 beers later I could swear they taste the same. Having nothing is certainly one way to go, but while you don't have as far to fall, you certainly don't have a lot of cushioning, either.
