Chiefs trying to trade Justin Houston
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Chiefs talking to teams about trading OLB Justin Houston.
We doubt they're successful. Houston turned 30 last month and carries an exorbitant $21.1 million cap hit. If the Chiefs don't find a trade partner, they're fully expected to release Houston, especially with Dee Ford likely coming back on either a big-money deal or the franchise tag. Houston's play has slipped in recent years, but he can be an effective sub-package rusher off the edge https://www.rotoworld.com/football/n...as-city-chiefs https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/n...carr-and-more/ https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2019/...justin-houston |

49ers make a ton of sense. They have about $70 million in cap space.

He had 2 sacks, 2 tackle for losses, a fumble recovery and a pass breakup against Indy.

Good...KC needs to get all of these "old money" players off the books.
I like Houston but $21.1 million is ridiculous... |

He wants a ring and I could see him signing in NE if we cut him. He’s exactly the kind of player they look for to keep the comp picks rolling in and I’d bet Houston would go there for a discount. |

He's one guy. We won't miss him. Our super pass rush led us to the worst defense in the league. You can scheme to create pressure and sacks. Umless you are Bob Sutton.

They probably wouldn't give a 3 but their early 4 would be okay. Not anything close to ideal but I could stomach it when combined with the cap space.

Why wouldn't he stay here for discount? He should as we have a better shot than they do. We had them beat and Ford screwed us.

maybe if we eat a couple of million of that salary, maybe we can get a resonable draft pick.

Pull a Brock Osweiler! Give some team a draft pick for cap relief.

Although they may not trade away a 3rd since they don't have a 1st or 2nd rd pick. But then again they're in a win now mode with a up n coming QB and stout D. Nothing would be more "Chiefs" than to see Houston come into Arrowhead and destroy our chances at a SB.
