the Rams moving to LA makes too much sense. Maybe the and the faiders share a stadium.

I was thinking along these lines...Kroenke calls both teams...tries to work out a deal for one of them to play in his stadium so you will have an AFC & NFC team in the same stadium just like NY. The NFL would sign off on that.

While I think it's complete BS when (billionaire) owners position themselves for new stadiums on the backs of taxpayers......Qualcomm is a dump, pure and simple.

San Diego needs a new stadium. Not sure how to pay for it - but it needs to happen.

There is no better place for a super bowl than San Diego - and the dump that Qualcomm is....will never happen again until a new stadium is built.

There is room downtown.

The Chargers have been wanting a new stadium for over 12 years. The city of San Diego have been dicking around and are no where close to coming up with a plan. The Chargers told the city last week that they want a plan by next fall but also said that to get a 2/3rd's voter approval to fund it was never going to happen. This latest plan sounds stupid but I am not surprised by it.

Yes, and I think that plan is great because there's no realignment. The LA Rams fit perfectly in the NFC West, and whichever of the squalid California teams wants to move to LA can also do it.

There's no doubt we'd be the ones moving to the NFC. Raiders have more history, as much as I hate to admit it.

I just realized that my comment about the Raiders having a rivalry with SF doesn't make sense, since the Raiders would be out of the bay area.

I would think that a Chargers/Raiders stadium would be a nightmare for the Chargers. IMHO they just don't have the rabid fan base. The Faid would overshadow them big time. Again JMHO.

Personally I think the Chargers best option is to open up to the entire County. I think they would garner a lot more support than what the City is giving them. Not sure how all that works.

Hopefully San Diego will finally just give the Chargers the Qualcomm site.

That's the best place for a new stadium.

That would still leave the cost of replacing/remodeling Qualcomm. If they are looking for Tax Payer support I don't think they will get it.

IMO, the best solution for the Spanos family is to sell 49% of the team to a multi-billionaire. With that money, the Spanos family agrees to pay 50% towards a new stadium along with the new owner.

The Spanos family would probably net $500 million in that scenario and still maintain controlling interest in the their team.

Win-Win.

The stadium drawings they had of the stadium next to Petco Park looked pretty cool.
