As a disclaimer, I was not involved in the research, and in fact no one knows right now who did the research, though they claim that it was extensive (despite the fact that I'm across the street from the Capitol and never heard about it). The only companies mentioned are marketing companies.

I'm sure they intended the green color to be indicative of the state's natural beauty and cultural emphasis on sustainability...
