Dumbasses !

If Ventura is on his game we win. They are not an offense to be scared of at all. Keep hitting the inside corners on Murphy and he can't go park. The rest is chump change.
It's NOT completely irrational for anyone to think that. I doubt it happens, but I can certainly understand why there are some that might think that way.

That said - KC in 6

The National pundits I heard on MLB radio last night were saying the series is over, the Mets have no shot. That kind of rhetoric makes me nervous. Tonight is by far our best matchup over the next 3 and the Mets are -135. They will likely be -165 tomorrow.

This game seems too obvious. Ventura on the mound, the first two games haven't dispelled the thought that it's the least scary lineup they've faced, the Royals have done well after seeing their pitchers a couple times through the order, all the momentums... the only downside is taking away the DH, but Morales hasn't been a huge factor so far.

Yeah, coming into the series, I was worried about not having Ken in NY. We've pretty much won without him. I think we'll still be able to put up enough runs to win.

I see things a little different here, yet the same ending results. The way I see this is the Mets were so sure of winning fresh off their sweep of the Cubs, they really under estimated KC. Their pitching was built up, propped up into thinking they were invincible. The whole NY, East Coast and National media basically laid this out because of the young armed power pitching Mets.

Syndergaard and his 100% guarantee the Mets will win the WS goes right along with this way of thinking. KC was here last year, NY wasn't, talking is great but you have to bring it onto the field, play after play. The problem for the Mets is they were young, inexperienced on this stage. Being confident is one thing, arrogant and showing a lack of respect by expecting because of recent sucess is another.

This has caught them off guard and now in a hole 2 games to none. KC is still confident yet showing the poise that there is much more work to be done. The Mets are reeling and banking on a good outing from their young lad,Syndergaard. Can he maintain his composure in a do or die game ? How many people feel the Mets can come back if KC wins this game ? May I see a show of hands ? The Mets weakness couldn't expose the Royals weakness, yet the Royals strengths were too much for the Met strenghts in the 1st two games.

They say you ride in the game that brought ya here, it's either do or die or sink or swim for the Mets in Game # 3. It doesn't matter how you title it, put up and show up time for the Mets because they got caught with their guard down.

If I was a betting man, I say the pressure is too much for the young lad tonight as well. IMHO, Syndergaard has watched but hasn't faced a lineup this deep as the Royals are. He will get an inning or 2 until we get some runs on him, the question is how will he react? Can the Mets bats wake up some?

KC wins tonight, Mets the next 2, KC in 6 games!

I said before when the playoffs started that I wanted to face the Mets in the World Series. They won the worst division in the inferior league. They quite simply just aren't nearly as good as the Royals and I think Wednesday really showed just how much better the Royals are.

Their starting pitching was supposed to be their strength, but those numbers are propped up by playing in the national league. I think many people vastly underrated that aspect and didn't really take it into consideration. They had a pretty good second half but their offense is nothing like what the Royals just got through in the first two rounds. They depend so much on just a few players and this was hidden in their prior post season rounds by Murphy doing what he was doing. Most people knew that wasn't going to continue. Any hitter can beat you but the bottom of that lineup just doesn't do much to scare you.

The Royals have been the best team all season in the best league. Ventura pitched pretty well against Toronto and he is going to dominate tonight. I think 8 innings of 1 run ball and we cruise to an easy victory. I know people get worried because it is baseball and anything can happen in any game (and that is true) but we are the vastly superior team so I am very confident we win easy tonight and close it out tomorrow.

Imagine for a moment the starting pitchers switched towns and Ventura was a Met developed in their farm system and had the last two years he's had here. The narrative would be about how amazing Ventura is - imagine his numbers in the NL - he would be right up there as one of their best pitchers. He had a 3.20 era in 2013 and a 4.08 in 2014. In the NL and that division those numbers would be improved half a run imo.

All the pressure is squarely on the Mets - win one in Gotham and the Royals are golden.

From day one, the Royals goal was to get back to the Series and win it this time. They are playing focused and inspired baseball. I am proud of this team. They never give up. So far they have beat the Mets in every aspect, pitching, hitting and defense.

Mets have a heartbreaking extra inning loss and then a complete beat down loss under their belts. I am sure the pressure is all on them. I like our chances and hope we can close them out for the Championship.

I should be confident but being a KC sports fan has me always bracing for the worst. I NEED the Royals to win two more games to convince me that we are not a cursed fan base in KC...
