As many of you know, this kid LOVES him some Kansas City Chiefs. Hasn't had a stellar career, but could turn it around here as he's still young, 25. If not a starter, quality depth/



Shane Ray found late notice he’d be inactive “disrespectful”

The Broncos made linebacker Shane Ray and safety Su'a Cravens healthy scratches for their game against the Browns on Saturday night and neither player was thrilled by the development.

Ray said, via Ryan O’Halloran of the Denver Post, that he found it “disrespectful” to learn late in the week that he would be on the inactive list. Cravens said that he disagreed with head coach Vance Joseph’s explanation that the team was going with its best players.

Ray, a 2015 first-round pick, has come off the bench in 11 games for the Broncos this year. He has 10 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in what seems likely to be his final year in Denver as he’s out of contract once the year is up.

Cravens joined Denver in a trade with Washington and spent two months on injured reserve with a knee problem. The 2016 second-round pick has 18 tackles in five appearances.

They are tagging Collins. No doubt. They dont have anyone else to tag. He is way too good to let go. AND if he is let go, we should be leary that something is still up with the shoulder.

1) Ray won't be expensive
2) Deep down he's obviously a Chiefs fan and would be extra motivated to play here
3) He'd love nothing more than the chance to stick it to horseface.
4) He's a 1st rd pick so Veach may be interested.

I'd agree, but I think the 1st thing we need to do is obtain a quality safety.
The next thing is does Sutton "retire" and what kind of D does the new DC want? Lastly, does EB's spirit move him enough to play more than a few games next season? If not, the 1st thing should read safeties.

Thing is, this is how smart teams are gonna get by with the salary cap. It's risky but sometimes, you've gotta play it this way.

You could tag and trade Ford, sign Ray for way way cheaper, and potentially get 85% of Fords production at a fraction of the cost.

I agree with others here. Ray seems like a low risk/high upside player next season.

Absolutely need to focus on secondary, particularly safety. Gotta get a competent safety to play next to Berry and one that, if Berry goes down, can actually lead the secondary and not make us ****tarded. A corner in the draft would be smart as well. Hopefully they get a kid with the ball skills similar to Peters but who isn't afraid of making a tackle
