Yeah, after checking things out, I decided to not install Windows 7. I just cleaned all the bloat up and bumped it up to SP3. Couldn't believe it hadn't been updated since 2009.

I know it's not as pretty, but XP really is a stable OS.

I forgot how annoying it was to have to restart 50 times for windows updates on xp.

Doesn't make a difference, but 32GB is a specific size that didn't jive with everything else you were saying. Or at least it made us think you might have misunderstood something.

XP was and is a fine OS. Like was said, it ain't flashy but it's solid. The POS computer I'm on right now is running it just fine.
I'm curious about the Ubuntu. Loaded it on a really old laptop just to play and it was very light and didn't use much for resources at all. I think it's a good option, especially since it's free. Just a little different on the interface, but for a regular user, it should be just fine.
