Damn near every college offense is spread now. Hell, damn near every NFL offense is spread.
The dude makes NFL throws and NFL reads. He works progressions and looks off safeties. He can make all the throws and appears to be a humble, down-to-earth, lead by example type. He has dominated the PAC 12. I don't know what he is missing in your eyes. Other than he happens to be a mobile QB in a spread offense. |

I really see no reason Mariota will not go #1 overall other than a team that just took a young signal caller, such as Oakland and Jacksonville. Mariota could decide to go back for his senior season, but I'm not sure that is going to happen. Other than him and Winston declaring, the crop looks like it doesn't have a 1st or 2nd round type of player. I wouldn't personally take Winston, but a team like Tampa Bay, if picking 2nd, might.
Right now you have the Titans who have Locker becoming a free agent and Tampa Bay who have nothing at the position both at 2-12 and ahead of Oakland and Jacksonville on SOS if I recall correctly. |

I do not trust spread QBs. Is there a good drop back passer?

Winston is the elite pocket passer in this class. Mariota is the new age Kaepernick, RG3 type.

The list of Heisman winning QBs that have ended up worth a shit in the NFL in the last 40 years is very small, and none of them have been elite.

If Winston declares I wonder if he will even get drafted in the first round.

Don't like him or Winston. We need to tank for a few years I'm afraid. If they don't draft their next QB I just can't give a shit anymore.

You would literally have to hire a baby-sitter for winston. The full on Dez Bryant treatment.

And if he drops in to the 2nd to us, we'd damn well better take him.
