Darksiders 2 Battle with the Maker, in recent memory was the baddest ass song to have a boss battle to.
Kingdom Hearts, the original, had a good soundtrack as well. Oh yeah and Twisted Metal 3 with Rob Zombie was always a great combo. |

Nobuo Uematsu was an amazing composer who really did a great job matching the music with the scene.
I'll never forget playing Final Fantasy IV when I first heard this theme. I knew shit got serious all of a sudden and I got wrecked I miss the days when Square actually put effort in what they did beyond some CGI's |

Uncharted 2 and 3 had a good soundtrack but I have got to go with Red Dead Redemption.
The music changed depending on where you were and what was going on, seamlessly. |

great choice. SOTN had 30+ tracks, almost all of them written by Michiru Yamane.
I really liked the soundtracks to the Myth series of games Beyond the Coudspire ( 10:26) and The Great Library (12:26) are the best tracks on there IMO My favorite from the 8 bit era. there was a lot of good music on the NES games. Rygar had multiple tracks that were good and the entire Mega Man series was loaded. Mega Man 2 was my favorite. 720 degrees had an awesome soundtrack for an arcade game

Half Life sound track.
Of course the Meet The Medic song from TF2 is simply epic!

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines had a great soundtrack. I remember going into the whorehouse sometimes just to hear this playing in the background (before youtube).

Embrace this, play this repeatedly, and in your final moments of life, as you're falling into the abyss...
I chose this version for the hilariously awkward moment at :58. But seriously, most of my favorite video game songs are from NES classics, and that's mainly due to nostalgia. As far as recent games, the soundtrack to Hotline Miami was good. |

Going from oldest to newest. First: Super Nostalgia
Next: C&C Red Alert. This is the first song I actually listened to outside of playing a game. I can't believe no one posted this yet. Third: Terran Theme from Starcraft 1. Still get chills when I hear this. Lastly, the main theme from Skyrim. I JUST WANT TO KILL SOMETHNG. |
