Denver is just a place to stay in between going to way better places. Hwy 6 out of Golden would be a cool ride on the scoot.

I'd do Pikes Peak, the road up to Mt Evans is garbage.

One other thing - you might consider finding a way to ride Route 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) while you're out here. Highway right along the beach with some beautiful scenery. You'd have to re-route to head north of LA, ideally, but might be worth it either on the way in or out.

Nobody goes to the Cherry Cricket any more. It's way too crowded.

Yeah, it's still there, I think. I don't go there often, but it's pretty good.
Cherry Cricket is good, too, but I just gave up on it. There's always a huge wait. They doubled the size of the place a few years ago, but it didn't help. Then they had a fire or something that shut it down for a while. It's back open again, but I despise waiting at restaurants.

There's some great riding to be had in our eastern county, up through Julian and into the mountains. Beautiful, scenic winding roads for hours. Or, and my personal favorite, ride the scenic Highway 101. It's about a 45-hr long cruise up and down the coast. Birch Aquarium, SD Zoo & The Wild Animal Park (i think it's called something else these days) are what we have for animal viewing. Birch is awesome. It's an aquarium right there on La Jolla's beach and admission is only like $20. Wild West History? You'd love Old Town. Old Town is (iirc) the first american settlement on the west coast. You can tour an old San Diego Missionary, visit the legendary "haunted" Whaley House, walk through an old 1800's graveyard. A lot of the properties there are restored 1800's architecture, and at night, it's mostly a party/bar scene. Museums: Balboa Park. Museums everywhere, built in the 1800's so the architecture is pretty neat. Check out the Automotive Museum, Air & Space Museum (This one is so freakin' amazing, i mean when a place has a real life SR-71 on the lawn, you KNOW the inside will be great) Fleet Science Center (Also super cool) and the Natural History Museum. All of those are top notch exhibits. Oh, Museum of Man is really good too. And there's like another 6-7 Museums there i didn't mention. BBQ: Our best local BBQ joint is probably Phil's BBQ. STAY THE **** AWAY FROM KC BBQ. It's awful. PRO TIP: If you and your woman are planning on spending time at the beach, be careful. This has been a crazy year for Jelly Fish and Great White Sharks. We've had a shark attack or two this year, have had beaches closed down due to sightings, and hundreds of jelly fish stingings. Stay in the shallow waters and shuffle your feat if you can't see the bottom of the ocean.

It's a fun road to drive though. Pikes Peak was so backed up 4th of July week it interfered with our plans.

There was yet another shark sighting just last week. Some kid caught one on his drone just 90 or so yards off shore. There was also that woman who got bit while surfing a month or two ago up at San Onofre.

Just might not be fun on a motorcycle. Oh, and never ever try to do anything near the front range on a holiday weekend. We learned that lesson when we arrived in Estes Park on Labor Day weekend last year. You couldn't even drive through that damn town.
