@AdamSchefter: Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today.

@AdamSchefter: Marcus Peters to LA Rams trade is now officially agreed to, per source; cannot be processed until March 14. But Peters expected to be a Ram.

No offense to Ian, but even they can be wrong. Schefter at first said a 2nd rounder for Smith.

So you don't have an answer? Thought so...

I asked a simple question....of all those guys who would you want?

I never said he wasn't good....I'm just saying he isn't the best.

He WON'T tackle....and has the feast or famine mentality when covering. Add that to his temper and ability to lose his cool and you take away points.

I'll even answer it for you and make it simple. If I had to take that situation I would go A.J. Bouye any day over Marcus Peters.

I see you haven't looked at the statement before that....I never said he wasn't good. I just said he wasn't the "best CB in the league".

He may be a turnover machine.....but a tackling machine he ain't. In fact his tackling skills make Deion Sanders look like Dick Butkus.

And what about the time A.J. Bouye makes a tackle when you are trailing with 30 seconds left but Marcus Peters strips the ball?

You asked a ****ing hypothetical question that doesn't matter what the answer is because its a fantasy.

Marcus Peters has been one of the best statistical CB's in the league since he entered, period.

There's no AJ Bouye available. The fact is they are downgrading a position that they literally upgraded a couple weeks ago. They traded a cost controlled player so now they either have to spend in FA on a lesser talented CB with the cap space they JUST OPENED or draft a CB and send him out there to the wolves and we as fans have to watch a rookie CBs growing pains. Again.

Also the fact that this defense is built of generating turnovers, and there are still other needs to be addressed (depth, front 7 talent, pass rush, etc)

A.J. Bouye wasn't even a starter at this point in Peters career.

Mitchell had 1 Int and 4 tackles while filling in for Peters.

I get it. Peters can make plays. But it's not like he is the only one in the NFL. If our overall team defense is better... and it has been pretty poor the past two seasons... who cares?

You'd have to come up with a better reason than a backup on his 3rd team in 4 years trying to replace a guy having a historic start to a career.

The odds of playing good defense have to go up when all eleven guys play tackle football, one would think.

Now you have changed your tune.....I was arguing he isn't the best.

And that I would take Bouye and a couple of other CB over him any day...for many reasons.

Mitchell isnt replacing Peters at the #1 spot, lol... and thats not what coogs was saying

What some of you guys are doing, is assuming the complete idiocy of our organization, most of us have come to the realization that if they were willing to take such drastic action... then what WE know about Peters is only the tip of the iceberg

Cut Veach and co some slack, give them a chance to replace Peters with a quality starter before declaring this to be the worst move in the history of football... thats all most of us are saying
