From the Rosenthal / NFL.com piece

Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters Berry potentially suffered a torn Achilles tendon and the team would know about the injury Friday after a scheduled MRI.

"I don't think it's positive," Reid said, already pivoting to talking about how Berry can assist the team by helping him coach this season.

Same.

I am not celebrating the injury unlike those few Chiefs fans that did with Carr.

I never celebrate an injury. Besides, what honor is there to play an opponent at less than full strength?

A good friend of my father's is in his 80s. Received second degree burns, had to enter the hospital. He tried to leave the very next day. Badass.

It really does. He's not the tackler that Berry is but he has the same aggressive mentality that Berry does. He'll stick his nose in there and try to make a play, even if he doesn't have the technique that EB brought to finish it.

He's not a great coverage player but with Parker as the single-high, some of Pryor's liabilities are covered there. He won't be able to shut down Gronk like EB did (as evidenced by the fact that Kelce ate his ass up against the Jets, IIRC). But I think he's better in that role than Sorenson would be.

It is an ideal fit for him because he can do a lot to re-establish his value here. The defense is tailor-made for his strengths and preferences.

And it would keep us from having to move Sorensen out of the role he's best suited for as the 3rd safety, nickel LBer type.

That's all fine and dandy and sure, i'd love the signing as well. But uh, we need to hope he passes the waiver wire first.
