Tom Brady is supposedly competitive about everything. Apparently, he’s even competitive about the length of his career when compared to his NFL rival Peyton Manning.

The Patriots quarterback jabbed at Manning in his private email correspondence, revealed in the NFLPA lawsuit to appeal Brady’s four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate. Brady was emailing with a childhood friend Kevin Brady, who brought up a Grantland article comparing the two quarterbacks and outlining Manning’s decline. Brady wrote that his career will last at least five years longer than Manning’s. Manning is 39, Brady is 38.



Zinger.

And Brady’s not blind to the differences in the two quarterbacks’ careers. In another correspondence with blogger Jay Flannelly, Flannelly wrote to Brady about those major differences, saying Manning “needs everything to be perfect.” Brady didn’t seem to disagree, providing a typical Patriot-esque response.



Perhaps Brady buys into the Brady-Manning rivalry as much as we do.

Dane, any time you have to stoop low enough to cite Peter King and Antonio Cromartie in an attempt to show your objectivity, you should probably rethink your position.

Peter King is to Tom Brady as John Madden was to Brett Favre, and Cromartie is a functional reerun.

It's not objectivity, it's a different point of view.

Secondly, that article wasn't written by Peter King, it was written by Andy Benoit. The second article was written by a CBS Sports writer named Ryan Wilson.

There are tons of articles slamming Goodell and the NFL front office but they're not discussed in this forum.

Tiki Barber stated this morning that Goodell should be fired, too.

The point is unless they were planning to dig up pictures of Tom Brady deflating footballs while wearing a Suck My Dick Roger Goodell shirt than they really didn't need the phone.

The phone and the questions surrounding the phone aren't relevant.

They charged off assumptions and used rules that shouldn't even apply to do it.
