It's been 30 freaking years. Does anyone really have confidence we're going to be able to walk into Detroit and not shit the bed? I hope like hell we come out with at least one win and go away virtually tied for the remaining games, but I must say my level of confidence is not all that

I'm pretty worried but I don't know... Maybe we won't shit the bed in this series.

I feel a lot better about not shitting the bed in DET vs. at home. I want to have a 4+ game lead starting that series at home. Our hitters just go into total spaz mode in big games at home.

Yeah, I have him on ignore. The funny thing is, I can't call him an idiot, because he's obviously an intelligent guy.

He's also a hateful asshole who is free and loose with casual insults, so I have no interest in reading whatever he's posting. I only see his crap when other people quote him.

I just wanted to go 3-3 on this road trip... and we already have 2 wins. So, it's conceivable that we can win the series in Detroit.

one game at a time.

Its fine. I usually do quickly skim over whatever he's quoted as saying, and every once in a while, it actually ends up being an intelligent post that I may have wanted to read! Usually though its either inane spew or angry trash that reinforces that I should continue to have him on ignore.

Cleveland simply won't die. And thanks Chicago for laying down and dying this weekend. Indians do play Anaheim this week so hoping they drop 2/3. I'm sick of them, they're acting like an annoying ugly dude stalking the hot chicks at the local high school.

We took 3 of 4 the last time we visited Detroit. Truth be told, I have more faith in the Royals winning on the road than at the K.

Butler has not played the last two games. Is he being punished? Is he hurt? When he's on his game, it definitely benefits the lineup. Has anyone heard Yost give an explanation?

In an article published last week, Yost said his DH selection would be based on pitcher match-ups and wellness of his batters.

Big series this week!

Weird that I like the odds with Guthrie vs. Verlander tonight, but Verlander has been so consistently awful (he was throwing 87 at the start of the game the other night)...

Second game, Vargas vs. Scherzer, is tough to see the Royals winning. Vargas has some competing splits in play... on one hand, he's been lights out since the ASB (2.66 ERA, 6:1 K:BB, 1.22 WHIP). On the other, he has struggled with Detroit this year in one of his three starts against them (two excellent starts, one really bad).

I think it will come down to a rubber match between Shields and Porcello. Porcello is an annoyingly effective sinker ball guy who throws strikes, which the Royals seem to struggle with. Need to focus on elevating his pitch count and getting into the Detroit pen in that game.
