To Amazon Prime or NOT to Amazon Prime

Sorry if Q, but I'm on the fence about doing the whole Amazon Prime thing. Seems like getting rid of Netflix all but pays for it, but wanted to ask the opinions of others in this Mecca of awesome knowledge called Chiefs Planet..

Is Amazon Prime really worth it over eBay when you buy, let's say, 5-7 items a month? I ask because I always do the "price+shipping" deal, so it seem like it's a wash at some level. That being said, "Prime" would ALWAYS mean two-day shipping, and that's something I hardly ever do on eBay, so it could be a deal that makes it worth it enough to buy 15-20 things a month. The whole "eliminating some of the instant gratification culture/concern" deal...

Oh, and I've heard that if you use an "edu" account it's free for six months (perhaps not a big deal over a lifetime!!), but is then like half the cost. Does anybody know if that's true? If so, and it' the son who has the "edu" account, how does "Dad" pull off that scam without having the kid able to buy pretty-much anything he's ever wanted?

Thanks in advance... Just looking for some opinions before I leap...

In the end it doesn't really matter, but just there's one little twist to its "Prime'ness" should mean the best part(s) of "Prime" are left out of the mix.

So Amazon needs to make sure that when people click "Prime", they only see stuff that'll get to their house in two days, or make even more levels of selectiveness.

They're kicking eBay's ass, but shit like this will let eBay back into the game!
Well, what you were initially taken to was Prime, you changed the options, which changed the seller.

This is how Prime has always been. No offense, man, but this is on you for not checking.

Man, I'm really fortunate because I can order Next Day and receive it the same day by 9pm. Also, Amazon delivers seven days a week in Los Angeles so if I order Prime on a Friday, it'll arrive Sunday morning.

It's pretty simple to figure out shipping in Prime.. it'll give you a guaranteed date and what time you have to order to get the guarantee. If you don't see that, it's more than likely not eligible for Prime.

This app is nice if you can wait for price drops... they are tricky when it comes to showing you how great of a deal you're getting, and this app will show you how much better/worse of a deal it's been over the past several months... https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...amfndblo?hl=en

I've never had same day, but they've delivered on Saturday several times and a couple times on Sunday.... I was pretty skeptical of them going with USPS for some items, but it's worked out well.

Yep. I received on item yesterday and two today. I didn't expect delivery today but Phoenix has 5(I think) distribution centers scattered around the metro so they pretty much throw it in a delivery truck and drive it on over.

Mom and Pop need to understand that MSRP is not how you price something.

UPS delivered both yesterday and today (not this stuff mind you..). I was stunned to say the least. Quite frankly, I'm as confused as I am stunned.

Your right.. Just dumb on my part... But I hate that I can the the Prime check in pic-1, but it's gone in pic-2...

But there is something to the whole picking something special thing. Had I gone with a regular shaft instead of stiff, it would have been Prime (pic-3)..
