Why do black people cross the street so slow?

I live in north Scottsdale/PV area which is not diverse. I am the first to admit I don't get inner city. On several recent occasions I've had to drive down town for business. Every time I have, including today, I've had to sit at a light waiting to turn because a black person deliberately walked as slow through the intersection as they could. Other people walked by them at a normal pace but they just sauntered. On one occasion the person looked at my car and actually slowed down even more.
What the hell? Am I imagining this or is this some kind of thing?

I know tons of black people that don't say "axe". Actually, I know very few blacks that pronounce it that way.

But honestly, who really says "asKed"? I've noticed the way I say it sounds more like "ast" or "assed" and a lot of people do the same. Having to enunciate that 'ked' in the middle of a sentence just doesn't flow right.

.. And on that note, unless you pronounce every single word in the English language correctly (no one does), what right do you have to get on another's case?

Diction, dialect and all that jazz is real shit. You might have just as much trouble understanding conversation between whites in the Deep South or the north east so why is it more of a joke when it comes to them but more spiteful when it comes to black people?

Maybe it's just my perception but it seems the sentiment about Ebonics is more of a "why can't these ****ing ****ers just speak regular English" while any of the popular white dialects are just more of a "haha that's pretty funny" type thing.

Seriously, has anyone ever spent time around people from Boston or New York? Are those ****ers saying car keys or khakis? I have no idea.

A good friend of mine is from Boston. She's been in Florida for a while so she's getting better but when she first got down here her accent was pretty thick, especially when she got drunk. That chick couldn't pronounce the "-ar" at the end of words for shit. "Let's go to the cah"

And a good friend of mine's mom is New Yorker to the bone. She literally can't even say "door". It comes out as "dowa".

At least they sound kinda cool. In St. Louis we just have;

44 - Farty Far [said a lot b/c it's an interstate here]
Sundae - Sunduh
