Amen.

we had that game, as called
No, if Reid runs the ball on 2nd and short, 3rd and short instead of getting cute...the Chiefs win.

The loss is still on Reid.

That being said...San Diego looked like shit yesterday.

LCD people think that the QB wins or loses every game by himself in the NFL.

Like there aren't 21 other people on the field, plus coaches, refs, replay booths, etc.

You obviously want to have a guy that can put the team on his back with 2 minutes to go and drive for the go ahead touchdown. However, you have to look at the conditions that the QB was under here.

Conditions, caused by the complete and utter ineptitude of his Head Coach/Offensive Playcaller.

Due to a massive failure, the Chiefs had to burn all 3 timeouts thanks to a series extending 12 men on the field penalty committed by the special teams.

Andy Reid had already made the Chiefs one-dimensional, taking Jamaal Charles away from the offense as a personal favor to Jim Harbaugh and the SF Defense.

SF has a top flight defensive unit. Do you really think that Kansas City had any legitimate shot to win in this situation?

Bowe
Hemingway
Jenkins
Fasano
Kelce

Which of these guys is going to make a play against that top flight defensive unit, when they know that the play is going to be a pass, because not only is Andy Reid to stupid to hand the ball to his all world halfback, but even if he wanted to, there was not time to do a balanced drive like KC had executed earlier in the game.

We were completely one dimensional, with practice squad caliber receiving threats, behind an offensive line that CANNOT hold up in pass protection without the threat of the run.

I don't care what starting quarterback you put back there behind center in that situation. With the lack of weapons, protection, or threat of the run, the chances of going 80 yards and scoring on that defense are slim to none.

Andy Reid put this football team in this position, by squandering multiple drives with horrendous playcalling. Then everyone wants to crucify Alex Smith for not coming through with what would be a ****ing miracle drive for a score against that defense with the absolute shit we have out there running routes.

Put it on Alex if youd like. My feeling is that Alex should have killed the ****ing passing play on 3rd and inches and just went with a run for the first down. Im not sure if he's the guy to go against the grain though, and essentially flip the bird to Andy and call an intelligent play for the situation.

Multiple passes from 2nd and inches, taking Charles out of the contest after busting his biggest run of the season, punting to save 17 yards of field position, allowing 12 men to be on the field on 4th down and 2, these are the things that cost the Kansas City Chiefs the football game, all of which had nothing to do with Alex Smith save for him not changing the idiotic playcall at the line.

According to Pro Football Focus, Smith has attempted nine passes beyond 20 yards, and his accuracy percentage, which includes one drop from a receiver, ranks him higher in that category than Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, Peyton Manning or Tony Romo.

Just because you have Hong Kong phone book of plays does not mean that they must all be used.

I was gonna say, that doesn't sound like a lot. How is that compared to other QB's?

Especially when this is a meat and potatoes kind of squad, sans the multiple TE's.

If so that's entirely disingenuous. Two of those nine attempts were INT'd in the Titans game alone.
