That's just it.

As a running back, DMC needed to be able to make people missed.

As a slot receiver, he can use his quickness to get into open space and let the route get him to the right place.

McCluster needs to succeed as a receiver

That was his standard play at OU. He is a very frustrating player. At times while at OU he appeared disinterested. He is another workout warrior, maybe it will suddenly click for him. Money might be what finally motivates him to become consistently good.

Cassel checked out of a half dozen plays or so against Seattle in 2010

Boss and Winston just flat out owned the Cards D on that long Hillis run. It was a thing of beauty. Of the 2 backup QBs, I thought Stanzi was a litle better. I'd like to see what he can do with the 2s. I think Maneri is the real deal at TE. Much better than Jake. Both #1 lines looked great. I thought Poe did well on passing downs. He was drawing a double just about every time and was getting some push. He was drawing a lot of doubles on the run, but he still needs work. Powe looked like he realizes he needs to step up to stay employed.

I think his weakness as a receiver in the past was due to what they had him doing. Either a quick hit at the line, or a 5 yard curl. Both of those routes force him to stop, and gave them defender time to recover and get a bead on him while the ball was in the air. As soon as he'd turn upfield a lot of times, he was hit before he knew it, resulting in either a loss, short gain, or blow up fumble. If it wasn't that, he was slowing up or stopping to catch balls thrown behind him, or just took too long to get to him.

He needs the ball in space, but also in stride to take full advantage of his ability.

Well, I was hoping it was a play Cassel checked into but nonetheless it was a good play all the way around.

Poe played with the first, second and third strings I believe. A lot more than most seem to realize. When Powe came in and impressed, he was fresh. Not saying he isn't better at this point, but he has a year under his belt. I would agree Poe looked a bit gassed towards the end, and more or less leaned on guys as a result and lost his hands, but give him time.

1st game against an opponent that went from AZ to Canton to St. Joe.

The Cards looked like a team that hadn't been home in 10 days. I don't know if they are that bad or if the Chiefs looked that good. Probably somewhere in between. I did like the line play. Still, it's a team that will go only as far as the QB's talent will take them.

So Cassel couldn't check off at the line? BFD. He was put in a very tough situation last season? True, but that's not an excuse that will wash with me. He's paid handsomely to perform without regard to "the situation".

Some of the comparisons itt are hilarious. Hillis and Riggins? Riggins on a fly route down the middle?

What jsp said is exactly right. You can make that read if you have anything to experience playing Madden. Also, the blitz worked heavily in his favorite making his decision easier along with his throw to the free receiver...

I think Haley just showed that, in the NFL screaming runs its course. I think guys tuned him out. He just wasn't prepared for what was put on him. I tend to put more of that on the FO for hiring him. He tried to do too much.
