Ed Harris takes Top villain role in HBOs "Westworld" reboot
Sweet. Loved this film when I was a kid. It's ripe for a reboot.
Doesn't sound like he's playing the Yul Brenner role though http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/08/11/ed-harris-westworld/ Image Credit: WireImage.com Ed Harris is coming to series TV: The Abyss and Apollo 13 actor has signed on as the Big Bad in HBO’s Westworld reboot. The four-time Oscar nominee’s character is called The Man in Black, and is described as “the distillation of pure villainy into one man.” He joins previously cast star — and fellow series television newcomer—Anthony Hopkins, along with Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, and Shannon Woodward. The Warner Bros.-produced sci-fi pilot produced by J.J Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, and Bryan Burk updates Michael Crichton’s 1973 classic film about a theme park where androids fulfill dark human desires. Harris’ description might sound like he’s playing the Yul Brynner killer-cowboy robot role, but it seems like actor Rodrigo Santoro was tapped for that part—and online production rumors suggest The Man in Black is actually a human character who sadistically abuses the androids. Harris will soon be seen the feature film Run All Night, starring opposite Liam Neeson and Joel Kinnaman. Harris won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Emmy for his work in HBO’s Game Change. |

Speaking of the Bicameral Mind theory, as it applies in our lives. I don't know if I can buy into it. It's very possible that it's correct but I have a hard time believing that everyone who lived 3,000 years ago just listened to voices in their heads or what they thought were gods. Basically the theory is that nobody had real consciousness 3,000+ years ago. They could read, write, love but their actions were basically the result of the bicameral mind (one side of the mind basically sent voices to the other side to complete an action) but not thinking free will. I guess that is how i understand it.
When I look at society today, and the ever increasing narcissism people have, I don't know how this would have ever been the case.

I forgot this on first viewing: Maeve saw herself and her daughter on screen touring the underworld with Felix.
She shouldn't have been able to see that....

Quote:
The Cry of Dolores (Spanish: Grito de Dolores) was uttered from the small town of Dolores Hidalgo, near Guanajuato in Mexico, on September 16, 1810. This event is considered the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence. The "grito" was the pronunciamiento of the Mexican War of Independence by Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a Roman Catholic priest. Since October 1825, the anniversary of the event is celebrated as Mexican Independence Day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cry_of_Dolores |

It crawls like a snail at times there is no doubt. Try to be alert enough to focus back in when the superfluous female nudity pops up and that will coast you between the parts that have some action and plot relevance.
