How could a team ever replace Waiters and Thompson? I mean, those are (apparently) basketball players!

He's just happy they didn't have to give up Lebron.

You can look through the thread. I am open and honest about who these guys as are. But these are guys who can soak up a lot of quality minutes. If you lose Thompson, you lose a guy who can give you 20-25 quality minutes floating between center and power forward. If you lose waiters, who is your starting guard?

So next year, the cavs will have a massive hole at center and shooting guard and zero money to spend. Zero picks. Their bench depth is going to be atrocious. Their only hope is to keep flinging value contracts at over the hill veterans looking for a title run.

Waiters and Thompson, as well as Wiggins and Bennett, are 4 guys who could put in lots of quality minutes who each played for the price of peanuts. They may all be gone by next year. So yeah, this trade is going to force the big three to do everything by themselves. Just as it was in Miami. Which is okay. Except I think they could have easily avoided that.

I'm pissed about 2 NBA Championships and 4 NBA Finals trips. Really shitty way to build a team.

Exactly. I think Cavs Fan would rather be the 90's Chiefs.

This Cavs fan naturally worries because Cleveland sports is worse than Kansas City sports. Even with good news, you always expect the worst. Until a championship actually happens in Cleveland, you can't blame any Cavs fan for being skeptical.

Miami was built around a big 3 that combined for about $10M in savings per year because they each took pay cuts. And they didn't have to cut nearly as much young talent to get that big 3 as Cleveland gave up.

I know that the moves made the Cavs big time contenders. Easy favorites to win in a terrible East. I just preferred the other route.

So if Kobe has a good season, will it matter? Are the rest of the Lakers dog shit this year?

I think the Lakers can be a low see play off team, not likely, but its possible if the rookie plays well. He shows damn good flashes of being a good player At least in the 2 preseason games they have played. Randle might be pretty well.

Kobe looks like Kobe already, i think he will average around 22-25 points a game this year.

Anyways, hopefully its a good year for the NBA.
