Choco Penii starts his second glorious season tonight with the New York Jets in less than an hour.

Praise him with great praise!

The Elephant in the room here Flops is that the Chiefs didn't expect to have Brendan Albert last year. Most experts saw them trading Albert to the dolphins to recoup that second rounder they gave up for Alex Smith.

At the time of the draft, Albert was down in MIAMI working on a contract with the Dolphins. The Chiefs were caught in a horrible position.

I think if they could of traded for that second, then in all likely hood, the Chiefs would of probably grabbed Geno in the second round.

he could of learned behind Alex Smith.

but the chiefs were getting ****ed hard by the dolphins, and had to make a decision.

I think at 34, Geno would of been a hell of a pick. At one, even with no true number one, they could of risked that kind of pick.

he would of had to play immediately, and the pressure for him would of been too great.

Just my opinion.

On Geno Smith.

last year, I said that new York would be the undoing of him. And it looked like I was right. Santonio Holmes looked like a shell of him self, they had no running game, no tight end, and no receivers as Stephen hill has been bust city.

But, one year later, they sign eric Decker, draft Jace Amaro, and bring in a true qb guru and boom, Geno has made strides.

he could very well turn out to be a franchise qb.

And what was his YPC? A healthy 11.4, 22nd in the league.

If your YPC is not high, a high YPA is a useless indicator of nothing. His YPA was high because he had an absurdly high completion percentage on all his short little shitty throws.

lol, sighs.

I almost forgot your obsession with the LONG BALL.

yet, I bet manning is up there in both of those, and he threw a higher percentage of short passes than alex smith did last year.

How does that factor into your logic there boss?

sorry, but if im alex smith, im not trying to throw long to Anthony fasano, Dwayne bowe, and Donny avery.

im dinking and dunking to jamal.

that's just ME though.

Once again, it's not about the long ball.

It's just about attempting more throws past the 15-yard marker.

Alex likes the short stuff. He plays it safe. That's fine. Enjoy NEVER GETTING PAID YOU LITTLE JERK. BECAUSE YOU DON'T DESERVE ANY MORE HUNT MONEY.

I've been over this with you before, idiot.

Peyton Manning darn near LED THE LEAGUE in passes attempted over 20 yards.

Alex plays scared.

Except when he chooses to ram his head into 250 pound linebackers.

I hope he gets another concussion.

Lol, and alex doesn't have Thomas, Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, and Cody latimer to throw to.

He didn't have THOMAS, THOMAS, Decker, last year.

So, there is that.

I came in here praising Geno Smith, and its not a coincidence in the least that adding jace Amaro, and eric Decker and chris Johnson have accelerated the learning curve of geno smith.

its not.

Im sure in your mind that its all geno elevating these guys to above their potential status, but, its not.

to be a great chef, you need great ingredients.

Its why football is the ultimate team sport.

The Jets are going to be competitive this year because of their defense and their run game, not because of Geno Smith. It'll help his development tremendously now that he has a good run game, good OL, and good defense to rely on, two of which he already had last year.

Let's see if he can carry his pre-season play into the regular season.
