I think he looks close to the same, age-wise. Just very tired.

Love the story. Still hasn't wowed me with his play.

I just wish a coordinator would use him appropriately. Sure, he's good in the box, but I'd like to see him play true center field. Let the man freelance.

He'd beast out in a role similar to Earl Thomas'.

I guess making 3 pro bowls in your first 4 full seasons isn't good enough

In his first season, Berry started all 16 games and became the first Chiefs rookie to be selected to the Pro Bowl since linebacker great Derrick Thomas. Berry had a big impact on the team's defense, helping to improve it from 29th best unit in 2009 in terms of points allowed to 11th in 2010, In addition to starting every game, Berry was on the field for almost half of Kansas City's special teams plays and was the only Chiefs defender to play every defensive snap.

He led the team in interceptions (4), and was second only to Derrick Johnson in tackles (92) and solo tackles(77). On December 26, 2010, Berry scored his first NFL touchdown on a 54-yard interception return against the Tennessee Titans. In his first playoff game, he recorded a career-high in solo tackles with 9 and passes defended with 4.

This is all pretty amazing. His first couple games are probably going to be limited and token appearances for fans and teammates but wow if he comes out of the gate swinging it's gonna be cool.

Bought my first Chiefs gear in roughly 10 years. "Be Bold, Be Brave, Be Berry" T-Shirt.

Us Keeping him on the books probably greatly attributes to the family feel we praise the locker room for having. I think the time is right

I don't think anyone was saying they should cut him.

Who did that?

Oh. Plenty. You being one. Well, you being one saying we should cut his salary or sign him to a super team friendly extension to take advantage of his cancer diagnosis

No, I didn't and you still don't understand what an NFI list is.

I said IF HE CANT PLAY THIS SEASON, we should either place him on NFI and pay him a portion of his salary, or (my preference and idea) to sign him to a long term deal with a low base salary the first year and roster bonuses the next year that would equate to an amount similar to what he would have made if he never missed a beat and is being paid as the top box safety in the league.

I never said to cut him.

Arguing with Hootie is like arguing with a spider, but at least the spider can bite you.

All Hootie can do is gum you with his floating teeth.
