Me and a buddy tried it once back in college. Was not ideal conditions. Wet grass field and didn't have my cleats but 4.7 was the best I could do under those conditions.
Was pretty fast back in the day so I should have tried it on a nice day. Will always wonder now because there's no way at 32 I could match what I could do in my early 20s. Shame. |

There are a lot of people who are completely full of shit.
Coaches make your 40 times look better for the same reason they BS your height and weight. Christ, one of my best friends was the starting tailback. He was listed at 5'7" 170. He wrestled at 135 in the winter, and I know for a fact that he is 5'4"

The fastest I ever ran it was 5.0, at the time I weighed 250-260. We ran it on grass, because our coach said "You don't play football on a track." I was always curious to see what I would of done on the all weather track we had at our school. Hootie we are probably similar in generation, and I am surprised you went to a school that now leaves you completely disbelieving that white kids running 4.5's is so uncommon. We went to college combines as a team in high school, and I routinely saw guys breaking 4.5. Now the guys that broke 4.4 in high school that was rare. To this day I remember there was one black kid at the combine that ran a 4.39 his name was Arthur Orange. He was lightning quick. We played him that same year, and that was track speed that transferred to the football field.

Maybe 1 guy in MOST graduating classes in typical high schools (not powerhouses) have true 4.5 speed...but not 200 random assholes on CP who had no athletic careers to speak of outside of a varsity letter or 2

I was by no means a burner, but I ran a 4.52 and played receiver at a small college. |

Yeah, without a doubt. There are a ton of guys who run a 4.5 every year in all of the schools around here.

I bet theres 15-20. I think Bubba Starling ran a 4.5 and he looked like JAmaal Charles against the competition.
