I'm just stating exactly what he said.

I mean, I'd love it if he comes out and becomes the Marcus Peters of the DL..but the chances of that happening aren't that great.

Sure would be nice, though.

Hahahaha

Dude, he doesn't have "motor issues", he has "shifter issues"...from what I've seen, he is either going 100 miles an hour or is in neutral while the play is still happening.

How can you not be concerned with his motor?

Already answered that question:

I don't see how somebody can watch that game and come away saying his motor is a big problem. What you see as motor issues, I call fatigue as the game wore on. It's also easy for guys that play too tall to look like they have motor issues when they're fatigued.

I mean if this guys pad level and motor were THAT bad, then it is very ****ing impressive that he still managed to generate as much pressure as he did against top notch competition.
How did Poe's motor look in college? Big guys wear down earlier at the college level, because they aren't in as great of shape as the pros. You're talking about guys that are 300+ having to balance school and football, yet playing just as many snaps. Now he can focus on football. I can't remember who it was, but a former NFL DL talked about this around draft time.

I beleive a serious motor issue will result in a lack of production. That wasn't the case with Jones, as he was arguably the most productive interior pass rusher in the draft.

Robert Nkemdiche? Now that's a guy with legitimate motor issues that should have the Cards concerned.

Also, you weren't just stating what he said, you were making assumptions based off of what he said.

Max Garcia's probably better than all but a couple of guys that Jones played against (in fact, he's probably better than all of them) but getting beyond Garcia, you have his coaches as well that can dedicate much more in terms of time and training to stopping him.

I think he can contribute, but be an 'impact player' - no, at least it's not terribly likely. There's just so much to learn at this level, not just in terms of technique but preparation and how to counter-punch against guys that have spent days doing nothing but figuring out how to beat you.
I think guys with the size, strength, athleticism and talent will make plays if they work. I agree that it seems like there are only flashes.
I think you ca put guys like him in situations to get sacks/pressures.

He's in a great situation with the guys we have surrounding him, so him not getting any production at all with his gifts really would be embarrasing

Technique can be taugh.
I was going to bring this up. In the inverse, guys do tons more off season working out and camps on their own by comparison to when Training Camp really was about guy's getting back into playing ship.

So, a bigger premium has to be put on the guys who are self motivated and taking it upon themselves to perfect their technique and craft.

Yep. I heard one of the old ol guys, don't remember who it was, talking about that being the reason why offensive line play is so bad. They just don't have time with the new cba to get the reps they need.

I can't tell if sarcasm, but offensive lineman are pretty much some of the smartest players in all of football.

OL is one of the position that regularly has the highest wonderlic scores.
OL needs reps to create the gelling cohesion that is necessary for the unit made up of 5 players to operate as one.

They'll need all the reps they can get, especially with the ol being so young.

You don't think Colquitt pinning teams inside the 15 on countless occasions helped the team win games? I'm sorry that's just lunacy. I agree with you I wouldn't pay a punter that much but to act like he hasn't helped the team is lunancy.

This statement ranks right up there with your statements regarding how great Johnny Manziel was going to be in the NFL.

Johnny Manziel isn't done. He's just pacing himself to the HOF.
