Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Yeah, I meant to state it as I wanted a 5" first for recreational shoot etc, then get a 1911 thats smaller like Ultra Carry or Pro Carry etc

I have a S & W 1911, and carried it for a while. It was too large (and I'm 6'2 205) for summer time, but fine for winter.
I love shooting my 1911, and it sits on my nightstand, and in a holster next to my console in my truck, but the SW J frame goes with me outside of the car. |

Fellas - if any shots were fired from an AR today, better get one ASAP.
The government won't have a prayer of taking back guns you've already purchased, but you can bet your ass that they'll get to work on making it harder to get your hands on one, which will certainly drive the cost up if not make it outright prohibitive to get them.

Additionally, as noted in the Bonus thread, I'm buying my Beretta. Bud's Guns has them online, but does anyone else have a place they would recommend me look for the best price on a Beretta 96 or Taurus 100?

On a side note, has anyone bought a handgun from a family member? What are the legal requirements for that? Obviously I need a handgun license, but I assume the gun will have to be legally transferred to me? |

Yeah, and I've never heard a cross word about them. Everyone seems to love them. I'll probably go that route.

Well, good deal - found a local guy that appears to be able to get it at the same price as Buds (actually, about $10 cheaper).
http://www.zkguns.com/ I'll have to pay taxes, so it'll cost me more in the end, but it'll develop a relationship with the local gun shop and kick a little money into the local economy, so I think I'll go that route.

And it's bought. Should be here by Friday.
I actually went with the Taurus model instead because A) It's a few bucks cheaper but B) I like the frame mounted safety much better than the one on the rail. That's just an awkward spot for a safety. Wicked.

The springfield xds looks awesome. It's crossed my mind to sell my Kimber 1911 3" for it. Xds is alittle smaller and still packs the 45.
The springfield xdm 9mm is my next purchase. 19+1 capacity, perfect for duty. |
