It's going to be a bit nippy come game time () so let's do this....

With Medlen at 5-2 and Danks at 7-14, and the bats waking up, the numbers are in our favor...

I won't profess batting order, but here's what I can gather as our starting lineup.

Escobar - SS
Gordon - LF
Cain - CF (We'll see, that was nasty last night)
Hosmer - 1B
Perez -C
Moustakas - 3B
Rios - RF
Zobrist - 2B
Dyson - LF
Morales - DH
Medlen- P

Yes, technically it's up the the ump's discretion. But for better or for worse, now they just punt every time and give the base runners 2 bases. One of the more egregious examples in recent memory happened during Boston's magical run in 2004:

They feature this play prominently in the 30 for 30 on the 2004 ALCS and the hard to find, but totally awesome HBO special on it - The Reverse of the Curse of the Bambino. You can get the DVD on Amazon - totally worth it imo.

Basically w/o that play, and the modern ump's decision to just always award 2 bases, the Red Sox miracle probably never happens. I believe here were two outs so everyone was running - by any reasonable interpretation of the ump's discretion - he would have awarded home to the runner at first.

It's not up to the ump's discretion. It's 2 bases. If you read the link below, each instance mentioned involved fan interference. Umpires do have discretion in cases of interference.
