Lonewolf Ed was given some bad news recently. While he is going to be busy kicking some butt, I thought this would be a good chance for us to get to know more about our friend.

We are mostly an anonymous group of strangers, for the most part, but sometimes its nice to humanize this place and get some value out of these relationships.

So ask away! Let's get to know his views on life, his funny stories, his firsts, his favorites... there are no rules, except for the ones he makes.

Hi, good to see you back. I am recovering from colon surgery, which was done on August 12th and the doc took roughly 10 cm out. I was released early, and I was not sorry to leave the hospital. They had to open me up to resect my colon, so I have a 5 or 6 inch incision from just under my navel to a bit north of my pubic bone and 10 staples. The staples are bugging me now. I'm able to eat whatever I want, I can get in and out of bed easily and the same with chairs, and I must have been doing well since I never took any pain meds past the second day after surgery.

I resume chemo on Sept. 1st since I still have liver cancer. The colon seems to be taken care of since I have not passed any blood since before the surgeon gutted me like a haddock. I do not know what course will be taken for my liver, but I do know this. Cancer is going to lose. I will win. If I live, the cancer dies. If I die, the cancer dies. That is all the cancer can do is die. I am the only one with a chance to live here, and live or die, I win.

Good to hear from you. You HANG IN THERE.

I'm glad they caught the colon cancer. That's a bad one so getting over that is just huge.

The liver is just frustrating. I'm no doctor but all our blood goes through the liver so it always ends up cancerous no matter where the cancer started.

I'm just glad you are BEATING this thing. My brother died at 39, 9 months after being diagnosed, so I know the risks involved. Some people go into remission for years. I am glad to see you are still doing well and HANGING IN THERE! I forgot you so I forgot to pray for you, but I will fix that tonight. I'm just thrilled that you are still doing well.

Chemo must suck but it is better than the alternative. Good for you Mr. L. Wolf E.D.!

Beat this thing like drum. Beat it like you are beating a Raiders fan!

What is odd and baffles the doc is that my liver is functioning at 100%, like someone's without cancer. Yet, it is stage IV. I do have some pains now from the lapro-howeverit'sspelled surgery but nothing too bad. The worst pain I have ever suffered was in the hospital when they moved me onto the bed in my room. I screamed out in agony then. I am glad that is over.

Thanks for the prayers and concern. I am sorry about your brother, too. I've had 19 treatments so far, which is a lot more than most ever have to do and it's not over yet.

What was that line. Pain is good because it means your alive. Well, that is the ONLY good part.

Take care. Stay positive. Check in once in a while. A lot of people here care about you and want to hear you've beaten your cancer. I hope somebody in the flesh is helping you.
